Watch the whole episode and you'll see two things. 1) Groban is a funny and smart guy who knows what he's doing. It's called contributing to a comedy show. Would you rather he sat in silence like some dick? 2) He's cool with it. He isn't precious about being a singer and a big star, he's just joining in with the fun. You might see 'desperation'...but you'd be alone in that. Check the comments and see.

Wow Mudd1989, I've never seen anyone get something so wrong! If he's been "tool'd" as you said, he would have just stood there embarrassed as past guests from bands like Blue and Five did, he played along and you could tell Simon totally respected that. You barely hear from Martin Freeman on this episode, Groban totally stole the show.

Actually try rewatching the shows before Amstell took over, Mark Lamar often took the piss out of guests, I see you keep referencing Preston which is pretty much all you have because he got pissed and walked off.
