can you please tell me how to launch the Tempo recognition assistant? I did it before and I can not remember how I did it, I have been looking through the software and manual, it says that it has the tempo recognition assistant, which is great but it does''t actually tell you how to launch it.
trying to import mp3 from itunes threw drag and drop. before the update i could do that without a hich.. now i just get a symbol that dose not allow me to do it.. plus theirs no import audio onley from cd source.. what the hell is going on?!! plus all my windows are floating all around my screen like they have been detached from the main window some how.. man i loved how imovie is so friking easy.

@wwwmagixcom I'd rather just ask in the comments. Ok so when you switch to the edit screen. You know, import, fades, title, effects. It shows all your media you can upload, effects, etc. For some reason, it wont show up. It's just blank. And I don't know how to fix it.
@EthanMichaelHanson Hi, there's a quick and easy solution: Go to "Window" an click "Media Pool" at the top of the software. Alternatively you can just press [F] on the keyboard in order to make the media pool appear again.

How do we crop a video so it doesn't show a bookcase at the left edge of the video in the background -without changing the quality too much. Can't figure out how to with Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus and how to save these settings. Thanks.

hi im a total noob, how can i do video transitions? I can see video audio effect under Effect buttom, but i dont see any video transitions effect. Like fade out shatter in slide etc....
@ThisIsDream I rarely use transitions, but if you slide the two clips together slightly on a track, just a few seconds of overlap, then right click on the overlap there should be some sort of menu for transitions, I believe.
@akosiina Yes. JPG or any still photo can be placed on a track and added to the movie. I have a tutorial for using Windows Paint still pictures with video. Magix has many tracks and each track can be a video, audio, still photo or narration or anything. I use the Edit window and the Timeline mode that shows the tracks. Good luck. You could just use stills for a slide show.
I cant save a movie I've made to watch on PC without it playing back un smooth. no matter what resolution I put it in I get jumps in the footage. can any one help? It doesnt jump in the scene overview. thank you

@ChemORdawg Well, saving is good when you want to edit the video again. Exporting is when you are done and are ready to upload. The automatic YouTube upload is in the Menubar under "Online" or in the export menu.
@ChemORdawg Yes. The export and editing does not affect any of the original files. Exporting means creating a whole new file in MPG or whatever. best,
when you save, it only saves the project (.mvd). Exporting is "converting" into a videofile like .WMV .MPG and so on. This video file can then be uploaded to YouTube. There is also a preset for automatically exporting and uploading to YouTube though.

My program has a lot of problems, But when i try to put two different clips together to make it one clip (like if I'm trying to be on both sides of the screen at once) When I export it one of the clips will be a frozen still image. What The !@#$ is wrong with it!

are you editing HD material? HD material is very CPU intensive and this sounds like your CPU is not strong enough. When importing this material a popup will open, asking you if you want to adjust your HD material. Press adjust and set back to HD when exporting. That should do the trick

Having a hard time importing audio. I tried wavs and mp3s but it gives me a stupid error message ... 'can't read the file make sure your HD isn't full' something to that effect. My HD is not full. And why on earth can't it read a standard

I forgot to mention that the Help file in Magix products is completely useless. Rather than providing help and advice it just gives you a vague guided tour. The English too is really frustrating to read, leading me to believe it's been translated from German to English by a German.

If you want to get stung then just buy Magix products. Their customer support is amongst the worst I've ever know, Check out their Facebook page - so many people's problems are completely ignored. People have also been reporting that complaints have been deleted too.
Magix Movie Edit itself is a good product, but the moment you have a problem you'll realise you've flushed money down the toilet. They even ignore people with Activation problems. The management should be in prison.

Hey, i had the same kind of problem. I found out that i had to use Firewire cable instead of USB. It cost me 9 euro's to get:P, but was realy worth it.
@BEGRProductions YES!!! I WAS SOO HAPPY A FEW MINUTES AGO!! It allows for the codec that comes off of the Kodak Zi8, I have been looking for a decent editing program for that codec for a while now.
I know that but whenever i save it like that it seems to finish only partly with blanks coming up periodicly in the video is this a system bug? Or is my magix corrupt?
i still use the magix edit pro 11 and it's so easy to use, has many features, it's cheap and it kicks ass. I'm thinking of moving up to more expensive software in the near future. if you're starting out i recommend the magix edit pro. it really is a good product.
this is BS of editing, i cant believe i paid $80, totally not worth it, very confusing and the quality of the video when you upload straight to youtube is HORRIBLE, absolutely HORRIBLE, thats one of theyre main FAQ. HATE it windows movie maker is buch better and it was free.. too bad they did away with it in windows7, now im looking for a new editor.
yeah, I have this program on my cpu..it is amazing, you go up to file, export movie, and then from there you click the format you want your movie to be in..it's got AVI, WVA, and for music MP3...enjoy
Tell me about it! Not only that it took an hour to upload, but there's really no easy tutorials on how to edit. Windows movie maker is way better though they don't have better effect icons to add to your video.

@jackiv1000 In the version 17 you have a preset for this in the export menu. If you work with an older version try exporting as a Quicktime video.

@CrankCase08 Facebook is for keeping in touch with our users and giving help where we can. Magix.info is one of our support-services and many MAGIX-employees answer questions here as well. We have a whole team for mail and telephone support and the nr is not hidden on our website (Big button "Support" right on the top, then "Technical Support" and theres a link to all the nrs) Try it. @wwwmagixcom -Now you've contradicted yourself. You said earlier that Facebook is not a support facility, but now you say it is! And if it is for providing help, how is it that so many people are left with unanswered questions?
So after a lot of trawling I eventually found the phone number, but I discovered that in order to make a call to Magix people must purchase a voucher for £9.99 (US= $14.99) per call! That is sneaky, deceitful, and criminal. What an appalling company.

@CrankCase08 If you read the comments again you will actually see that I said the same thing just in different words, so wheres the contradiction? Everybody can look at our facebook page and see for themselves if we answer. I already stated 6 ways for you to get help without paying anything. I offered my help to you as well, which you just ignored. Your argument is already proven to be wrong just by me answering to you and trying to help. I'll ask again: Can I help you in some way (for free ^^)?

@wwwmagixcom You said firstly that Facebook is NOT for giving support, then later you said it is to help customers. That is the contradiction.
There are plenty in the Facebook English section ignored. Whenever you do respond it's the standard "We can't replicate this but will pass it on..." Then there's nothing, it's just forgotten.
What 6 free methods? All three of your free assistance methods just get ignored by you!!
I need no assistance, I stopped using Magix products.

If you want to get stung then just buy Magix products. Their customer support is amongst the worst I've ever know, Check out their Facebook page - so many people's problems are completely ignored. People have also been reporting that complaints have been deleted too.
Magix Movie Edit itself is a good product, but the moment you have a problem you'll realise you've flushed money down the toilet. They even ignore people with Activation problems. The management should be in prison.

Hey, i had the same kind of problem. I found out that i had to use Firewire cable instead of USB. It cost me 9 euro's to get:P, but was realy worth it.

It works fine for me, so i dont know what is wrong with yours. try uninstaling it and reinstall it.

i still use the magix edit pro 11 and it's so easy to use, has many features, it's cheap and it kicks ass. I'm thinking of moving up to more expensive software in the near future. if you're starting out i recommend the magix edit pro. it really is a good product.

this is BS of editing, i cant believe i paid $80, totally not worth it, very confusing and the quality of the video when you upload straight to youtube is HORRIBLE, absolutely HORRIBLE, thats one of theyre main FAQ. HATE it windows movie maker is buch better and it was free.. too bad they did away with it in windows7, now im looking for a new editor.

yeah, I have this program on my cpu..it is amazing, you go up to file, export movie, and then from there you click the format you want your movie to be in..it's got AVI, WVA, and for music MP3...enjoy

Tell me about it! Not only that it took an hour to upload, but there's really no easy tutorials on how to edit. Windows movie maker is way better though they don't have better effect icons to add to your video.
