The outer 2 engines do not use reverse thrust as it overhang out of the runway and above grass. If it will to use reverse thurst it would cause massive damage to the grass along the runway.

i work in the Airport..and from wat i see A380 is much shorter but wide n tall than boeing 747...

But it actually is 2.5 meters longer than 747-400. The 747-8 will be longer but not bigger. And when the 380-900 comes, it will be about 3-4 m. longer than 747-8.

the first canadian landing was actually in nunavut for its cold ops test. but global new doesn't have an outlet up north, so to them it doesn't count.

Lufthansa has 20 firmed orders for the 747-8 as the only airliner!! But they also ordered the 380. And no US buyers have odered any of them, yet. #80 sell like hot cakes and will continue to. That´s my guess. Along with 787 and now the A350 that will launch in 2010 instead of 2013.

and both the Comet and DC10 serviced for many years after their original problems were solved... and since most crashes are still caused by pilot error, you really can't blame the manufacturer of the plane... besides, it's a good thing we have two strong competitors, both parties benefit from it, because they keep trying to be better than the other, so you should be happy with airbus: it forces boeing to do better and vice versa...

Those neon lights have been available for a few years, also on Airbuses. Emirates uses them on their A340-500s, for instance.

I actually like the 787 too! In the beginning I didn´t like the A380 because it looked a little too short. But now I thinks it´s totally hip and looks amazing! 787 and A380 is the future! All the 300, 330, 757, 747, 767 etc. is old and have done their job!

What we should be talking about isn't the first landing but the first crash. I think the first high fatality crash (which every Airbus model has had) will doom this pig to the scrap yard along with the DC-10's and De Havilland Comets. Airbus sucks.
