a statement was made below that the Irgun used terrorism to oust the british. it should be remembered that the Great Britain of 1947 was desperate to hold on to the last vestiges of its empire. in Israel, it did this by inciting the muslims against the jews which led to the Arab riots and massacres prior to the formation of the State of Israel--and one can say continue to this day based on the active support given to the arab terrorists by the british forces.

Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people. It has been for 3500 years. Palestine was never a country. It was a region defined and named by the West. In 1922, three quarters of Palestine was given to the Arabs. They named it Jordan.

The "Palestinian Arab" movement is actually about getting that last quarter - Israel - into Arab hands and away from its rightful, aboriginal Jewish population.

It is Arab imperialism, under the guise of victimhood. Don't be fooled.

@shropshirelass66 what are you? An israeli or something? Just because palestine has never been a state doesn't mean it cannot become one! Jeez. Unlike israel, palestine was never formally granted its independence. Hey, btw there r other states round the world too that never existed b4 and now they exist, e.g. south korea, pakistan, former soviet states, etc.
