Alright, so lately, I've been on a bit of a Star Trek TOS marathon. I just got all the DVDs, and I'm watching the episodes from the beginning. And the amazing thing is that i have watched and obsessed with this video so many times that every time a scene you put in here comes up in an episode, i immediately recognize it from this video.

I think you might be mistaken. McCoy is not racist towards Spock. He teases him, the way some of us tease our ginger friends, without any real antipathy. In Star Trek, you get to see racism (or speciesism) at work, notably in "Balance of Terror" where a navigator is repeatedly rude to Spock. You can see how it hurts Spock, and Kirk reprimands the man in front of the entire crew. Kirk and Spock's reactions to McCoy's words indicate that he is not, in fact, being racist.
This is PERFECT. Might sound like a poor comment, but it's the best thing that came to my mind and the best way to describe it, really. Because it really is PERFECT.
