Yes, there is real magic in this and the queen is both mad and a witch. The mirror, and this is just my opinion, is a kind of evil spirit that has taken possession of the queen, but at the same time, I think it is also a manifestation of her own psyche. It reflects all of her own insecurities. Someone let me know what he or she makes of this.
