That's the thing about Anya. Though she understands near to nothing of human culture and ways, that's what makes her ever more interesting. She speaks from what she knows and does so in an honest manner, say things that we're too afraid to say.
Its weird, Im a ''New'' fan to the Buffy/Angel-verse. But I am FAR from new to Whedon. I seen the movie YEARS ago, and just got turned off from the series..BUT. I own the ENTIRE buffy series now, and I am one season away from seeing all of Angel. Its wierd to see how many people do not like Anya, I love her.
I'm pretty indifferent to her, liked her in season 3 and her recurrent character role then, she is much better than Amber and Dawn...they were dead horses they just kept beating. Nothing against the two actresses who played both characters, just the characters didn't sync in with the atmosphere of the show, that ambience was lost, that intangible thing that made the show great. The writers are really to blame.

I love her.. Anya and Spike were my favourite characters.. ..but they both died at the end of season 7 .. :D
