@yksnimus Seriously? Understand the program first bro. Wireshark pulls ALL network traffic in. Because it was convenient he was using a connection on the same computer as wireshark was running on, but you can see the logins of anyone on the network. For example... ANY wifi hotspot.

First off, reading your own packets isn't illegal. Second, this only works, if the username and pass is typed in on the pc you're packet sniffing. You would have to convince someone to log onto their account using your pc. If you are just trying to get their username and password you might as well use a keylogger....

You don't use wireshark to find someones I.P. There are so many easier ways to do that. You use wireshark to see the urls / packets going back and forth between the web and your computer. It's not illegal, or it wouldn't be legal for them to distribute the software. You can see anything, passwords, your game score, etc.... What you choose to do with the info, illegal or not, is your choice.

not using wireshark there isnt a way to change it from hash to normal words so u can see the password atleast not that i know of you would have to use another program to decrypt the hash =/

also has any body tried any tcp scanning with wireshark? im wondering if this would work well scanning information passed through a router i havent really tried
