  • Wow that had a nice sound to it.....like they say ...they don`t make`em like that anymore.......good history lesson ...dony

  • Like ah slice of cheese !!!!!!

  • hmmmm it should be army green colour and have different exhaust to be 1959...greetings from stihl dealer in europe

  • that is a nice chainsaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi guys. I inherited one of these saws and i got the motor rebuilt. I'm just wondering about the whole manual oiler button. When do you use it?? Do you have to keep using it while cutting through wood??? Cheers.

  • @gdrahcir give it a couple shots through ech cut, that should be enough oil. these saws do not automatically oil them selves

  • So what did this saw use for an air filter? I didn't see one when you took the cover off.

  • @workensmart good question,

  • i have one of this too an it "stihl" works :)

  • 6hp holy crap thats like a compact push mower in your hands :p

  • Sounds 4 cycle!!

  • Thats crazy its as good condition as my 1920's aladdin blue flame kerosene heater haha

  • They really built those things to last back then didn't they lol

  • cuts like 'budder',

    THanks for the vid

  • Man that thing cuts wood like butter, great saw and great vid!

  • sharpening with the file is the best, the machine takes out the temper out of the cutter/chipper, to much friction, caused by the grinding wheel,ur friend should give a few tips, of sharpening a chain, good vid,

  • @Liamautomechanic yea he's a pro but camera shy

  • @donyboy73 WELL he,s taken the first step, uve got to get him on again, sharpening the cutter on the chain, again top marks on presentation, that saw is in mint condition, very good video,

  • @Liamautomechanic I'LL ASK HIM AGAIN TO BE ON

  • @donyboy73 good idea,

  • it is a credit to that gentleman for the condition and dedication and time , he has put into that saw, good vid don,

  • @Liamautomechanic he's irish like you, LOL

  • @donyboy well feck that, that why,s he is shy, me old country man, or comrade, as they say in russia, LOL UVE GOT TO GET HIM TO SHARPEN THE CUTTER, THE IRISH WAY,

  • @donyboy73 lol

  • @donyboy73 wats the mix?

  • 0:54 "A weight of 12 kg" .... LOL that must have been the lightest model on the market at that time hehe! Wonder how old the loggers would become wielding stuff that heavy.. Also, to bad modern saws don't feature a manual oiler button.. sometimes I need extra oil when chainsaw carving. Love the idle sound!

Nice vid Don. I like special stuff like this.

  • @Mueiwark thanks man

  • 6hp is alot for a saw, cuts great too

  • they sure had style in the 50's...good vid.

  • Sounds great! Nice old saw :)

  • wow, it looks very great for 1959 , much better than most actual saws... ! also sounds very great :)

  • wow, thats worth a nice bit of money.

  • Nice chainsaw wish I had the money to fix up my 2 old Stilhs I think they are from 1961 or 62 . The saws both need new bars and replacement carbs . The previous owner had left them in a old barn that leaked rain on them for over 20 years . I bought them for 10 bucks each at a auction where he was selling out his farm stuff . I also got a 1965 homlite that I cant find parts for so far it just needs a carb kit the bar and chain was rusty but salvageable. I love those old saws they work better.

  • @ncrdisabled what models are they?

  • Wow That is amazing I would love to own that saw How much is it worth?

  • @GarrettJDB about $800

  • @donyboy73 I think it is worth way more than that I'm thinking $1700

  • @donyboy73 wow, it's my friend's saw and he wants to sell it

  • sounds great!

  • Considering he paid $250 for just a replacement bar, I'm surprised he let you demonstrate it. That was very nice of him. Runs like new. Amazing.

  • imagine with a tuned pipe on that monster, it might hit 8hp with it

  • 1:55 the gas tank has a removable bottom

  • Thats a nice saw!

  • +++++

  • holy shit. 6 hp in that little thing?

  • @883gilmour yep

  • @donyboy73 that's actually alot. i motorized a bike with a 42cc poulan pro! :)

  • @883gilmour do u have a vid of ur motorized bike?

  • @883gilmour Whats so great about 6HP? Japanese motorcycles produced more than 6HP out of 100cc in many different motorcycles.

  • VERY NICE! Saw one like that at a flea market once, in rough shape but it ran, cuts through that like a hot knife through butter!

  • @MrMoterKid did u buy it?

  • @donyboy73 No I didn't, I was talking about your saw, I have no use for a chainsaw, we have an axe, and we hardly even use that.
