the lyrics of this song are so powerful and heart touching

  • Ive been saved 17 years and still cannot believe the power of the cross!

  • love it great work.. It is both for today and like old hymns

  • Hi Steve - my point was that there is no 's' in Townend :-)

  • @iamie153 : I know. I am so sorry....I misread your post. I realised as soon as I hit the post button... I thought I had removed it before you saw what a numpty I was ;)

  • Awesome arrangement but will you please change Stuart Townend's name in the title. Stuart Townsend is not really know for his worship of God. :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @iamie153 had to look both up, to 'get' this. yes, PLEASE correct the spelling Emmafountaine!! *lol* iamie is QUITE correct!! :D

  • great song, stupid hats tho ;-)

  • most epic and powerfull song... :)

  • Thankyou Stuart great song cos the words are truth and the music is really beautiful. Thanks Emma for the post.

  • Thanks

  • Beautiful

    So true

    I love u Lord

    So powerful

  • amen... what a poweful song, iam grateful everyday for what God has done for me..

  • i love u (LORD)

  • Please ignore the hat. - LOL!

  • Interesting how people take one section of scripture and make it the be all in end all. When Elijah came into the presence of God, he did just the opposite, he COVERED his head (I Kings 19:13). Even to this day Asiatics often cover their heads as a sign of respect, while Europeans uncover their heads to do the same, show respect. Isn't that the point? I Samuel 16:7 "For man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart."

  • This is my Jesus and my Saviour

Thank You , Father, for Your Grace

  • stop talking bout hats it dosn't matter

    they are still worshiping god.!!!

  • Amen. Thank god for the words Stuart knows,

Thank God for the talent in the music,

Thank God that we are bringout the word so that more people can be saved.

Most of all, Thank God for love and sacrifice

  • You do not understand what you see. The whistling in adulation, cheering & clapping is going to God NOT to the performers. God is worthy of all our praise.

  • the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe.

  • @jaytheauctioneer For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will reject."

  • nature is not only earth, but the whole universe.

  • so happens when earth is no more?

  • The bible is clear not to wear hats when praying, not a major teaching but still Gods request.

and as a Worship leader and the bass player, they should know better and set the example - hats in Church, all in the name of fashion it seems

1Co 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered dishonors his Head.

1Co 11:7 For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man.

  • you know what, its really frustrating when i see people like you who try to enforce the smallest minorical detail of the bible's instruction as if its life or death, i think that there are certain teachings that must be followed (eg. faith in christ, 10 commandments) however there would cetainly by some amount of leniency when it comes to something as trivial as hats...i think the hat thing is more out of respect, jsut my thoughts on it

  • indeed, not many people follow the commandments anymore, very few follow sabbath, although not essential to be saved as so by grace does, it is still a way to show love to God

  • we are dead to the old law in Christ that we might live in hi. The old law is unable to save, for if it could Jesus' death would be for nothing. Romans 7:4

Those who argue about hats, etc should remeber that the law ot how we are meant to live, butthat GRACE has freed us. How many of you were alive (Or even Jewish) to be part of the Old covenant?Paul writes many times about the law, and this...and he should know it best being both from the time, a pharisee and meeting Jesus !!

  • yea a great song and one we will be teaching the Church but i feel i should coment on on the fact these two guys (who i'm sure are genuine Christians) but WHY are they wearing hats? in Church esp worship! Do they not know the simple plain teaching of the scriptures which says a man shal not cover his head when praying. I realise it'sa non-essential but it's also a very clear unquestionable request by God in His Word , they are worship leaders who should set the example.

    1Co 11:4

    God Bless

  • I love this video. It is relaxing.

  • great hymn!

  • Awesome Song =) Amazing that our Living God Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross as we were forgiven and made renewed by the LOVE OF GOD!! We stand at the cross and we are forgiven! AMAZING SONG!!!! :D

  • This was filmed at my church, Woodmen Valley Chapel in CO Springs, Colorado. I was there that night. I thought the roof was going to come off the church. I will never forget how powerful it was to hear 3000 people singing this, and the band Stuart had with him was world class.

  • It's such a powerful song, we sang it Easter 08 in our church, Tavistock Methodist, and that was between 400 - 500 people, absolutely amazing, love it, great message.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • I love this song, it reminds us of what Jesus went through all for us. He died the worst imaginable death and was scorned by the ones he was doing it for and even then he forgave them. What a love

  • Couple of months ago this was hymn of the month at my church.... I LOVE IT!!! :D

  • Glory to Jesus!Wow, He died for me!

  • I love this song, especially at Easter.

I've sung it as a duet in church, I love singing it.

Its a great declaration of God's immense love and grace shown towards us in Jesus.

  • hey i love this song and at mt school

we are singing it and when i shold

my mom she said it is sooooooooo

pretty and she do not like a

    lot of songs!!!!!!

  • This is one powerful song I heard on the Easter Sunday. It brought tears to my eyes... please pray for me to be strong in Him...

  • im praying for you

  • =) God will work through you. =) Everyone has a weakness..I think your like me..You hear a song..everyone sings it...but you think about it..think into the meaning...so happy...=) Jeusus loves you...=) He loves us all...maybe not me because i have sinned to much =( but he loves you forever!

  • It doesnt matter if you have sinned, onnly jesus is perfect, if you ask god to forgive you then he takes all of our sins away, jesus died for our sins. Jesus loves you like a mother loves her new baby.

  • Oh my gosh, you made me cry. I don't no why, I just burst out crying. I don't feel he has forgiven me...I keep phailing him. I'm going to hell. I know it!

  • If you look into your heart and ask God to forgive you, he will, if you are truly sorry for what you have done, he will forgive you, he made his only son die, the only perfect person ever to live, he made him die so that we don't have to be perfect, it says in the bible ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of god, but if you ask him to forgive you, he will, no matter what you have done.

  • Thank you, thank you so much. =) You've really helped. But I keep finding my self ask the question, God sent Jesus to die, but he did it ages ago, for those people. He didnt no we was going to be born today.

  • the thing is, he did, he knows everything that has happened and everything that will happen, he is all powerfull, he made time, he made everything, it says in the bible that he is an all powerfull all knowing god, he designed each and every person that will ever be made, and that includes me and you, christianity is not so much a religion as a relationship with God, he wants to be our best friend.

  • =) Does he?

But what if his not talking to you. and everyone around you seems to be dying. and you cant breathe, and nothing seems right! And you failed him soo many time...but even asking for forgivness..guilt creeps up on you...everyone breathe you take!

  • pray. talk to him. read his word. take 5 or 10 minutes out of your day to be in his presence and pray to him. ask people to pray for you. it says in the bible that even if one sinner prays for forgivness there is partying in heaven. god wants to forgive you but unless you ask him to he can't. trying to get to heaven is like trying to jump to the moon, some can jump high but none can make it. jesus is our space ship, let him into your life.

  • Thank you, you've really helpped..you must be a angel =)

  • Josh is giving you good thoughts! For so long, I felt so unworthy of being a Christian. I wanted to wait, to become a "better" person, thinking God deserved more than just me. However, in our fault-filled state, that is just how God wants us to come to Him. Bad things happen in this world and to good people around us. That is only THIS life and not the one that awaits us. God has his reasons for what happens. We may not understand it now... but we will, later, in His kingdom! GB, sister!

  • =) I sing this song at church, it made me think of everyone here helping me :) Thank you for you kindness, god bless you dol xxxxxxx

  • I'm trying to learn it and will be singing it Oct 5th at church. Our music minister asked me to do it as a solo, but I'm already leading worship. I avoid solos those services. I'll try to make it a duet or more folks. There's a couple from Indiana coming to lead worship later in Oct. and the music minister wants the congregation to hear it beforehand so they can sing along by the time of the couple's visit. Keep singing! (Is it really like praying twice? ;)

  • Dutch, I completely understand your statement about waiting to become the "better person" and it was only recently that a friend helped me to understand God's grace even though i'd been Christian for many years. If you ever get the chance search for Terry Virgo's blog on Grace, he's truly blessed at explaining how law has been fulfilled and our path within Grace.

  • @xxSweetSacrificex

God new at the cross, (and long before) who would be born today.

'he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.' (Eph 1:4 ESV)

  • Wow.

I sent that message 1 year ago, and look at me now. I'm going to be baptised in January. Things have changed, dramatically.

  • That's great

  • *Bow*

  • These words and music are truly anointed...

    Keep the faith.

  • sing this a camp you always feel privalaged that jesus did actually die ....suffered in agony for .....me

  • Brilliant and song is awesome.

  • This is my FAVOURITE song we sing at Church and on camp! so pleased to find it here on youtube as we dont sing it loads at church! great song! cant wait to get it on my iPod!

  • Another incredible entry point into worship from the anointed Stuart Townend-one of our most important modern hymnists. Thanks, Lord, for the gift of music you give to Your children. Some days this church music director feels uninspired, then along comes an unexpected gift like this. God is good.

  • I loved the song so much i taught my self to play it on my guitar.thanks very much:)

  • im a teenager and i became a christian when i was 7 years old. If your not a christian u could pray to God tonight and ask him into ur life. God loves us and wants us to be in heaven with him on that great day. God forgives you even when other peopel don't.

    GOD IS LOVE
