  • Another thing, VFD's don't have the $ and support of the city and/or county. They rely on the fees charged and any donations made. We could look at this in a different light, you can have the option to forgo the $75 fee and just pay the VFD for fuel costs, a commensurate salary to city FD's and then vehicle maintenance. When you look at it that way, the folks who pay a meager fee of $75 have it made. Growing up I said " thats not fair", mother would come around the corner "lifes not fair"

  • .Okay i understand that they didnt pay and shitt buht wtf right after they saved there neighbors house they sit there and watch the other house burn ! That's just a group of ass holes, they could have simply left instead of sitting there and watching there fucken house burn SMDH !

  • FUCK THEM FIRE FIGHTERS HOPE THEIR FIRE HOUSE BURNS DOWN!!!

  • so this is a step to privatization of the fire departments? Neoliberal economics are winning. And those worthless "firefighters" standing by as a house cinders to the earth.. repulsive.

  • if there were humans in there would they have came? or not cause did not pay 75 bucks can not Except any less from THE SOUTH!!! i glad i live in Canada

  • light there trucks on fire. then tell them to put it out they have to payy a 1000 dollar fee and if not tell them they better start pissing then

  • bitch i pay taxes to help people like this smh

  • Those motherf*ckers shouldn't even be called "fire fighters" wtf is amercia coming too, I'm feeling more and more ashamed to live here because of the bullsh*t that happens here, But still i don't mean to offend anyone .

  • Several Pets Died? Really For $ 75.00

  • I watched this in disgust. I don't understand why they didn't put out the fire, its their freaking job to put out fires.

  • Again, anyone disgusted by this isn't thinking logically. Running a fire department costs money, a lot of it. They aren't willing to pay? They don't get the service. Should we force an insurance company to step up and pay for the house if they weren't insured even though they refused to pay? That and if one of them gets hurt working in a house that isn't part of their AO they don't get covered. But please, carry on with the knee jerk reactions. They're humorously pathetic.

  • @towely stfu bitch trying to sound educated, youre stupid ass shit, so if someone walks into the ER literally about to die, you wont help them because they cant pay? and if someone was still trapped inside the house ? fuck it, they didnt pay right..smh

  • @bowdownx3 Again, you don't have a clue what you're talking about. If there was a life safety issue the firefighters would have gone in. There wasn't so it was simply a property issue. You can make strawman arguments all you want but they don't hold up against facts. Fact is if someone gets hurt trying to save that property they are not going to be covered by the city. That's it, disabled for life and no income. For a house? If you're so disgusted go volunteer for your local FD

  • @towely Also with people like you, the world will be corrupt. if you're supporting them firefighters, are you also going to stand and watch someone's home burn down? what if it's your own? have you put yourself in their shoes? what if you're too poor to pay for the tax? all you are is a disgrace. Besides if they only do this "firefighting" job for the money, why stand there? Leave and put out other houses, all they are doing is wasting resources. Now go home and reflect on your mistakes

  • @CystalFlamez This is how it is and has been done. Too poor to pay a 75 dollar tax but yet they own the place? Then it is their fault for poor management. If you want fires to be fought as a form of welfare then go buy gear and start fighting them. Stop being a hypocrite. My own house is covered. I pay my taxes which include payments for fire protection. We don't just do the job for the money but we aren't going to put our entire families well being on the line...

  • @CystalFlamez cont: for someone elses stuff. We get hurt in that situation or killed, our family gets NOTHING. We fight fires and go on runs on a daily basis. We start cutting corners and sooner or later we will get burned. We are professionals and we do everything by the book. Freelancing gets people killed. In your little world maybe everyone gets everything they want and all is well but in the real world protocol and law must be followed.

  • @bowdownx3 cont: You will get educated on the facts of firefighting quick. We don't operate a welfare program, we offer a service to paying customers. If you don't like it feel free to buy some hose, rig up a truck and go around doing it for us. No one is stopping you. We aren't superheroes and anyone that acts like they are in our line of work isn't going to live long. What keeps us alive is training and being smarter than... well... people like you.

  • @towely Honestly why call people pathetic? you're saying that just because someone didn't pay a fee of $75 the "fire fighters" have the right to watch their house burn down? if they don't like it, don't put the fire out, i guess people ain't committed to the job, why do it? Sure it costs money to run a service like firefighting, but come on, $75? you got to earn the money, and what i mean by that is like all other jobs. you are paid to put out fires so before you get paid, you got to do your job

  • @CystalFlamez They don't have a "right." They have a job to do. That job includes very clear guidelines. You are NOT to enter a residence and fight a fire that you don't have jurisdiction over. As for "rights," you also don't have a right to fire protection. It is a service that you pay for. This household opted out of it. No pay, no protection. They knew the gamble they were taking... I am paid to provide services for those under my zone of control, that is IT.

  • @CystalFlamez As for paying after we come, right, because a fire dept. can operate only on a post-bill policy. If that were the case we would charge people tens of thousands of dollars per fire call to maintain our readiness. Fire protection is an insurance of sorts. You pay into a common collective w/ others for combined coverage. That's how insurance works. I understand the emotion you feel towards this situation but emotion doesn't create solutions, logic does.

  • Fire Fighters Save People thoose people is a shame

Shame on you if you call thoose fire fighters..

  • I'd laugh my ass off of those pussy firefighters' house's happened to catch on fire & they died. Fucking neo-Nazi's

  • Burn down the fire department.... I mean how could they not have the manpower to fight the fire, if the headline says that the FD watched the house burn? That means the man power needed to put out the fire. instead chose to watch it burn. You're not fire fighters, you're fire watchers.

  • A firefighter's purpose is to save lives and preserve property. I am a TN firefighter and my station or county EMA would never let something like this happen. These firefighters should have conviction and guilt on their hearts.

  • This is sick.

  • I believe the Nazis adopted a *similar* policy back in 1938. Whatever the excuse it's morally reprehensible and make no apologies for my statement.

  • can we go back in history and just let the south secede?

  • These firefighters aren't bad people, They just needed the money to complete their tin can collection

  • My Father ( A UK Fire fighter) watched this in pure disgust. These people (well more likely there bosses) are insults to Firefighting.

  • Morons, put the fire out and let the idiotic boss sort the financial side out, what a way to treat your citizens.

  • this is why you move to New York.

just a tip, FDNY firefighters were the ones brave enough to go at it for the twin towers.

  • i know sometimes responses suck with FDs. especially smaller towns. (i am on one.) so was it flat out refusal/ordered or was it volunteer and they didnt have enough ppl to respond and no one thought of mutual aid? the average joe firefighter isnt a heartless chum. unless the officer had a vendetta and didnt wana call mutual aid.

  • in the small town i live in in missouri, if you dont pay the yearly due and you have a fire, they still respond. however you are charged for every truck they use X amount of dollars, every firefighter that is on scene X amount of dollars and surrounding agencies may charge also if they are called for backup. This fire dept should be shut down and fined out the ass if these are all the facts. A registered nurse can loose her license for passing by an accident and not staying on scene

  • @godlytroller if somebody was stuck or trapped in the house when its on fire then the firefighters would have responded and helped to save the victim, regardless if they paid the fee or not.

  • 1st-The firefighters did NOT ignore or REFUSE to go to the fire but were ORDERED not to respond by their suprior.

2nd- if the home owners contacted their insurance company and told them about the fee im pretty sure the insurance company would have paid it. better to have to pay $75 for a one yea fee than pay for a full house and all of its contents!!!

  • @explorer4011 they offered to pay whatever they needed to for them to put the fire out, its sad that they stood around and watched though.

  • i fucking hate this world. good thing firefighters will be an obsolete job in a few years

  • What is disgusting is all you morons who are taking the side of this idiot, an adult human being who knows his responsibilities and neglected them. Grow up, you losers!

  • In France, when you don't pay your taxes, you are facing penalties, justice, etc... It does not mean you will not get the service, as it 's not an "optionnal" fee, it's a tax and you HAVE to pay it. So from my point of view, these pople should not have been able not to pay, first of all. Secondly, you don't call yourserlf a firefighter anymore when you just stand there and watch. That's a weird point of view to talk about firefighters like they're an "insurance"...what's next, police ?

  • Horrible. I took an oath when I had that badge pinned on me, to help those in need. Those firefighters are a disgrace to every FD in America. How can you look at yourselves in the mirror, look at your wives and children, knowing you didnt have the balls to say "Screw you Captain" as you started pulling hose? What a bunch of punks. They should be prosecuted under your states Failure to render assistance laws. Cowardly...

  • "In an interview with Daily Finance, Obion County mayor Benny McGuire cleared up the question of responsibility for public services, noting that "We provide law enforcement, schools, and some health care services, but fire protection is one thing we don't have to provide." Moreover, given the price of fire coverage -- a 2008 study estimated that it would cost at least $554,000 per year to protect the entire county -- it is a service that Obion cannot currently afford."

  • republicans want everything to be privatized, and this is end up what happens

those are the same people who pretend to be christians.

  • What if somebody was stuck in that house while it's on fire?

  • This isn't representative of Tennessee... as stupidity knows know georpahic border.

  • face at the end says it all.

  • I would blow there little ragity piece of shit fire station up,

  • That's unacceptable. It's bad enough that they refused to help those people because of the lack of payment. But then to hang around and watch their house burn is just a smack in their face. They should be ashamed of themselves. If there was a legitimate concern about the fire spreading to a neighbors house who had paid, address the root of the problem. No fire, no cause for concern. It can't spread if you stop it where it started. The money could've been dealt with later on after the jobs done.

  • @FSDeputy81 I agree whole heartily with that last statement. When you get into a car accident, the ambulance does not ask you for money before taking you to the ER, instead they bill you hundreds of dollars weeks after the accident. Why did the fire dept not do the same thing?

  • @katmandewFBA Nothing should get in the way of doing your job. And then to stick around and watch the result of you not doing it? Horrible. What if cops started acting like that? I'm county, this is highway patrol's job or I don't work for this municipal department. That is not how first responders should be behaving. As it was shown here, no good comes of it. They lost their house, and the county didn't get their $75. What was accomplished here?

  • Let's see, the residents require to pay $75/ month or year to get the firefighter protections which do not cover their areas. Some have paid, but some don't. The ones that refused to pay want the firefighters to help them in emergency!

Why don't people tell the house owner that he was so stupid and so cheap for not paying for his fire protection, instead of condemning the firefighters not giving the free services for the cheapos.

  • Mayor David Crocker of South Fulton Tennessee is a f*cking moron for going on TV saying "Either they accept it or they don't" after a family has lost everything, including their pets. What a wanker.

  • I thought the American government was doing things for good...you know since they started the war in Iraq and Afghanistan based on human suffering....

    I wonder whats going on?

  • I thought the American government was doing things for good...you know since they started the war in iraq and afghanistan based on human suffering....

    I wonder whats going on?

  • Americans are assholes!

  • These firefighters are worthless peices of sh*t. Just one man's opinion. Karma baby, karma. It's a bitch when it comes around and make no mistake you can't be this heartless without it coming back to bite you in your overpaid ass.

  • I bet this guy pays state & local taxes, what about a water bill, 911 fee and in that fact i bet the state, county or local government gives that department money yearly so they can get new equipment, so with that fact the homeowner has already paid for service,

  • i have wondered what this united states is getting to,the government controls everything we do driving, mortgage, taxes they control everything you dont pay taxes your home is gone, dont pay a water bill NO water, dont pay sales tax you cant buy anything. This story goes back to the mob era when you pay for protection, that is exactly what the firefighter said " he didnt pay for protection" and i thought that was against the law

  • @MrEggie1966 Wait until Obama gets done with our country - you won't recognize it!

  • That's just libertarian capitalism and became very popular with tea partys. I can't describe how I can hate that people, how can we imagine to live in such a world without any rules about money (anarchy capitalism). I really hope that american people will never let tea partys become too popular in America.

  • This is another example of profit over people. Public services are privatized and people get screwed. Corporations will try to privatize the water we drink and the air we breath, if we let them.

  • Unbelievable, what’s next teenage girl was raped and murdered while cops watched when asked why they didn’t help her cops said she had an unpaid parking ticket

  • if it was Mayor Crockers mothers house and she didn’t pay fee I bet they would’ve responded

  • I don't want to live like a devolved selfish animal. America is better than this. If this doesn't make you want to get out and vote I don't know what will.

  • Either they accept it or they don't?!?! What is wrong with these people, how could any human being stand there and watch someones house burn knowing they could help? This is just terrible, have some heart Tennesse!!

  • Wow...If we get enough REPUBLICANS if office we could do the same for:

    POLICE departments and SCHOOLS.

  • the land of solidarity xaxaxax a holes

  • The future after full privatization. Some morons won't pay their fees because they think they can do everything themselves and this is the result.

  • This is really messed up..you stay classy, Tennessee.

  • Unfortunate incident but homeowner must take responsibilty for failure to pay.It would've been different if they didn't have the money but he said he thought they'd put it out even if the fee hadn't been paid, well he found out the hard way! When you insure your auto & neglect paying your premiums & your policy expire, you have an accident ,total out the car,you will suffer loss & no one owes you anything! The lesson is next time act more responsibly & make time to take care of your business.

  • Your analogy narrow minded and irrelevant to this event.

Car insurance is meant to pay for the damage after the fact(He does have fire insurance), this fire department could have prevented the loss of lives and the damage to the home in the first place.

I used to think Americans were a caring people, reading some responses here...I was wrong.

  • @jesus2good4that are you completely and udderly retarded, what the hell are you talking about fire fighters, police, paramedics, etc are not suppose to be these heartless sons a bitches that these so called pole riding fire fighters were. Fire fighters are suppose to protect the public, just the same as police just from different dangers, oh well you didn't pay a fee so we can't put out the fire... what kinda money hungry, black heart-ed, soulless, piece of shit came up with that idea.

  • @darkwarmain does anybody else think that this is complete bullshit, does anybody else feel the way i do? and i'm sorry if i was the home owner i would sue the appeal it all the way up to grand jury, write the Governor, I may have even beat the shit out of a firefighter or two maybe throw one in the fire cause i bet that would get them to spring into action ... well maybe not ... maybe he didn't pay the "Save me from a fire" fee

  • @jesus2good4that Pure Christian love right there! You would make Jesus proud.... (mind the sarcasm).

  • @Varda87 Refuse to do what Christ requires of you..and he'll love you right on into hell..I'm sure that would seem a little harsh to you also. Sometimes the truth can get a little painful but it'll still make you free!

  • @jesus2good4that - you can't be serious. you really cannot be serious dude. Stuff ups happen all the time, do you really want to be arguing with an accountant when your home is burning to the ground.

What if there had been people inside?

You "jesus2good4that" are no Christian. Jesus didn't ask for money to save people and you are a disgrace to Christianity.

  • @radsue you're entitle to your opinion just as i 'm entitled to mine. i'm quite sure they made sure no people were inside the house.i'm glad i don't need you to validate my christianity, based the language you used to describe Mayor Crocker you need to check yourself ! you're a hothead who can't stand for others to disagree with you.why don't you neglect to pay your car insurance, wreck your car and see what happens! in christian love

  • @radsue What's even worse die without paying your insurance premiums and see if the insurance company pay the claim, rules are rules & one day you'll come to know that they're expected to be adhered to whether you like it or not...oops didn't mean to step on your christian toes!

  • @jesus2good4that You are a fool to think that anything you say here is YouTube is worth a lick of anyones 2 cents. If all you do is come to a site to comment your opinion, which is completely one sided toward religion, and never post an original thought through video, then you are a looser. As for your name, it is a contradiction and hypocrisy. Jesus was never to good for anything and he never stated as much. Get off YouTube and keep your comments to yourself.

  • @jesus2good4that - I'm not a Christian, so don't worry about that. You are a perfect example of why I'm not a Christian. You preach love and charity and then you do your "I'm so much better than the rest of you dance".

I'm a hot head and proud of it. You're a nasty little piece of work and probably proud of that. Go and pray for me.

  • At what point did fire fighters stop becoming public servants?

  • I don't understand why some people want to move to the USA?

I am glad that I am German, for we would never do such a disgusting thing.

How can American Firefighters be so cold and cruel and even let family pets die for money?

If this were to happen here, they would all be in prison.

  • @Diemerstein Should people who don't pay taxes receive public services?

What happen if everyone doesn't want to pay but wants to get services for free?

  • @ktchong 4 pets were also killed by those so called firefighters. it also spread to the neighbors property thanks to them not putting it out. could have caused mass damage.

  • @ktchong

From what I have heard about this sad event is, that he does pay taxes, and even payed this fire protection fee every year, but forgot to pay it this time.

But the bigger question for you is, do you let 4 animals, and potentially human lives perish over $75?

Would you pass by a car accident with children injured if they didn't have insurance?

In my country, Firefighters are heroes that don't care if you have money or not, whether insurance or not, they save lives period!

  • @ktchong to answer your first question.. People get free service without paying taxes. The people in welfare get tax reductions even though they are the ones who need the service.

The state would still get their money for providing the service. How? Well the fire department would put out the fire, charge the houseowner $75, and also charge a late fee.that is what they did in the past, i dont know why they didnt do it here... this is ridiculous. We pay taxes on programs that arent preformed

  • @Diemerstein it only happens in the south in backward redneck towns. thank god for that.

  • Well I was saving and working to move to that area, I think I'll just stay on this side of the Mississippi where I know if my house is ever on fire it won't be ignored if I forgot to pay a petty fee.

  • These are the anti-heroes of the fire fighting world. I hope Karma catches up to the fire fighters. They deserve all the bad things that happen to them.

  • so what would have happened if a person would have died isn't the fire dept liable for that thats just crazy the fire dept wouldn't come put the fire out

  • goov47 I totally agree with what your saying why pay money to the firefighters.

I think people are just being greedy why the hell should anybody pay a stupid fee we allready pay taxes for other shit why should we have to pay to have our house put out.

  • I look at the heartless firefighters who stood by because they didn't get their $75 and can't help but compare them to the selfless, heroic firefighters (many of them volunteers) who, without hesitation, ran into the Twin Towers to save lives on that horrible day 9 years ago and never came out.

  • @bwworld i agree that it is dumb but if they put out that fire and the owner for some reason decided to sue them, the city could not help them, the rule is dumb, not the firefighters they are just doing what they were told to do.

  • @sentryknife ya just like the nazi,s...i was just doing what i was told

  • @bwworld - I would never knock those men that died, but FDNY is a fully paid department. The volunteers were people who came out to be part of the clean up and search crews not the actual fire fighters who ran into the towers and paid the ultimate price for there brothers. I'm from NJ and we dont have this retarted $75 thing. Either paid or volunteer if your house is on fire where coming and we wont stand around and watch.

  • Firefighters waste soooooo much money. This country has lost it. Im just going to sit back and watch the show.

  • Yes..this is capitalism (Free enterprise)at its finest, because Only free enterprise respects humans as actual intelligent individuals, not systemic Morons in need of all-controlling centralized-Parents.Individual Rights are about protecting your own ability to control your own life and have Nothing to do with the (otherwise)overall Quality of that Life. The pathway to devaluing true Individual rights that hold humans as free and responsible has been thoughtless,(dont judge me!)Empathy of children.

  • If these were REAL firefighters, they would have put out that fire and ignored what that pig-looking mayor said. What if there was people trapped in there, would they still be standing there and watching? After Hurricane Katrina hit and the Coast Guard started their rescue, the federal government ordered them to stop rescuing during the night, but they refused to listen and did their job. Why couldn't these knuckle-head firefighters do the same? This brings great shame.

  • What kind of crap is that? You have to pay the fire department to put out the fire in your home? I never heard anything so stupid in my entire life. That dumb mayor didn't have one ounce of sympathy for the guy, because all that hick was thinking about was the money. Somebody need to slap that stupid inbred upside his empty, lopsided head.

  • Guy makes over $250k a year and can't afford $75.

    Either:

A- live in the inner city and pay the tax

B- live far away and pay the fee.

C- sit and watch you house burn down.

    They picked C

  • @MrSTANDFORAMERICA it is not about the money but the principle. Whether he paid or not, it is a moral issue and that what makes it look bad for the firefighters and the mayor. The neglected the burning house which caused another house to catch fire and 4 animals to be killed. The fire dept and mayor need to held accountable for their actions. If I was the second house, I would sue the fire dept and mayor for allowing this to happen.

  • @katmandewFBA Oh you missed something there. The second house the fire dept came out to make sure it didn't catch fire from the other house that was on fire. They payed their fee.

See everything cost in life. No matter what. it like saying, just because I already own a car I now have to give you a ride to anywhere you want to go at my cost. Nope, if you are a guy you will fill my tank up for that ride. But if you are a girl...well as the phrase goes, "gas, grass or ass, no one rides for free".

  • @MrSTANDFORAMERICA Your are a sexist pig and should change your username because you make it look bad for the rest of us.

I did not miss anything. It is a double standard to put out ones house because they paid and then just watch the first burn down. What if there was a wildfire in the area. Would the fire dept try to put it out, or in your understanding, should the animals in the woods pay a $75 fee to save their home?

Your logic is flawed and the highest level. Get a clue, dude!

  • @katmandewFBA it's not no damn double standard.

Hell kid, if I come out to fix the guys a/c unit next door to you. I'm not coming over to your house to fix yours too. just because you live next door to each other.

He can be single and you have a 1/2 dozen kids and your grandmother living with you. if you don't pay, you sweat.

  • @MrSTANDFORAMERICA Your logic is substandard and if my a/c unit is out, of course I will pay to have it fixed. But when my house is burning down and there are volunteer firefighters, who are paid by the gov't, just watching it burn down, there is a problem. I hope that you don't get into a car accident with someone and the EMS just helps the other one and watches you die.

How would you like it if you had to pay the police for protection? That's illegal, so should what happened!

  • @katmandewFBA Your logic is pure communist. and this nation wasn't built on communism.

  • @MrSTANDFORAMERICA No, but certain inalienable rights and common sense should apply. Does the same $75 also cove if the person is on fire? And if someone got hurt in the fire, does the EMS charge a fee too? Will they just watch me die because I did not pay? Think about it! Stop stating stupid logic. A child can even see this is wrong!

  • @katmandewFBA The certain inalienable right is pay your fee when told to. Not wait till something happens.

  • @MrSTANDFORAMERICA Finally the first actual intelligent words out of your mouth! Congratulations!!!

Now if it only mattered whether he had to pay or not! IT DOESN"T MATTER! If a kid falls off his bike in front of an on coming car, do you help him or let him get hit? It is the same thing. And like I said money doesn't matter. The fire dept still gets a pay check from the federal gov't not just the city.

  • @katmandewFBA oh but it does matter. As the man said, "I thought they would come out, even if you haven't payed your $75 dollars."

The man knew of this fee for years, His excuse was, "that's why i moved out of the city, to keep from having to pay taxes and fees for such thing as fire protection. So for years he refused to even pay the fee to the county. So then he got what he payed for. Nothing. oh and the fire dept here in Dallas don't get a penny from the federal gov for fire fighters pay.

  • @MrSTANDFORAMERICA

Yes, everything costs in life and the homeowner DID offer to pay whatever it took. The firefighters could have charged them $500+ and the people would have paid. (They would have made a profit too.) But the firefighters refused to take ANY money. They'd rather watch the house burn then suit -up and charge the property.

    This is modernday blackmail. Period.

  • @head2toepainter it's not a pay as you go. it didn't matter if he offered $5000.

It's like you getting a ticket for no insurance. You can't go buy insurance after you get the ticket and call it go. The fact is you didn't have the insurance at the time of the ticket. Same will go for, if he didn't have fire insurance on his home. He can't after the home burns down go buy it, even if he has the money.

  • @MrSTANDFORAMERICA But if they are there and can stop the fire from spreading any further, they should have taken the money, not just sit back and watch the bonfire grow! Get your head out your ass. What if it was you?

  • capitalism at its finest.
