  • you can always tell if its going to be a mock charge by if the person lives or not.

  • ser ikke noe angrep

  • Where ist the attack?

  • your an idiot! you cant predict what a bear is going to do..you cant predict what your home pets will do..grizzly bears are agressive and are known for attacking people...if one decides to attack you...it will most likely kill you...and if you dont have a gun what are you gonna do wrestle it!? yea right an animal is an animal...you cant predict there actions

  • @brandodestructo07 Grizzlies are not agressive. They do not invade Boston, randomly killing people for fun or whatever "feeling". Thats more the character of men you're describing. Grizzlies - when not provoked by annoying human presence - are seldom agressive. Probably on a few occasions in a year when it comes to food shortage or mating.

  • Even the most frightening bear is still beautiful to me and in my work in the field with grizzly bears I have been close to many. I have never had to use a gun to protect myself, nor have I had to use bear spray. I have always preferred common sense to firepower when in the presence of these magnificent animals. So long as you're not being stupid (lewandlo), grizzly bears will generally leave you alone. Remember, guns don't make up for a lack of brains.

  • nothing in lewandlo's reply was stupid at all. you may have knowledge of bear behaviour and that has served you well and all your encounters with them were by your choice so that and luck have gotten you by.

Should an encounter be unexpected or in bad consequences for the bear (region depleted of its natural prey, just off hibernation, you get near a sow's cubs) you are human like the rest of us and will suffer if arrogance has led you to forget this. See "bear attacks Croation musician."

  • Yes this is true, the only thing saving my dad's hunting partner's life (the 600# sow had a hold of this guy) was my dad's 7mm..

To bad she had 2 - two year old cubs with her and with the EXACT same meal idea. They had the bead on my father, but he was too quick and had to destroy both cubs. One doping 10 feet away.

I agree with you comments... most people who claim to be experts on bear behavior is because the event is often planned. Not everyone is so lucky

I am NO A BEAR EXPERT.

  • Yeah that Grizzly man thought the same way, He spent months upon months with the bears and didn't touch a gun, Guess what happend the bears fucking ate him and his wife! Your a fking idiot if you think these animals are safe to be around!

  • @emberlivingood

Okey, so you hang around bears all day, thinking they would never harm anyone, without a gun. And you get to tell who's stupid and has to "make up for a lack of brains"

You're not exactly Einstein either, in my opinion.

  • You look at their actions .The bear will not run away ,and will stand his ground. He will just walk slowly .He may feed a bit watching you. I had a grizzzly walk across the atv path ahead of us 75 yards. He just walked across the meadow not strait away but beside us. I watched him stop and just stare at the ground. then his ears went down .then he bluff charged us. that is the kind of bear u have to be worried about. We could of shot him but 2 small. young stupid bear.

  • What an awesome and powerful animal. Beautiful.

  • Not that beautiful when you're alone in the bush staring one in the face...

  • I've been there, didn't get charged but walked into one. Not beautiful at all. The bear ignored me!

  • @hotpipesblog There is only one demografic group I can think of when it comes to be "alone in the bush": Retarded people.

  • That was a pretty weak bluff charge. Usually they do it to scare you away from food or cubs, and they will stop 25 to 100 feet away. That's when you want to have your pepper spray ready (VERY effective).

Yes, if you turn and run you probably get mauled.

I documented a similar bluff charge (sow with cubs) at my EcoRover blog site.

  • way to close for me, good video!!

  • what do you look for in a bluff charge? the ears or the way they charge?

  • If they come closer than 5 yards from you its most likely not a bluff.I have a couple bluff charges and never had one come with in that 5 yard distance.

  • you're still alive after

  • This would make a great educational video on the bluff charge of a bear. People tend to freak out and run when the do this and end up having to shoot the bear or get killed if they are not armed.
