The unibody contruction is great. The previous generation macbook, (the plastic ones) did have some durability issues like many notebooks can. The unibody contruction makes the new macbook really solid. That is pretty important if you run around campus or work all day with your laptop. The price didn't go up either, in fact, you can get an entry level macbook for $900. LED back lit 13". It's a great deal. Hell of a product. I have a windows desktop, but always get mac laptops. love em.

I got the top of the line 15" model. 3.06 GHZ, 500gb 4gb. Its the best investment I've ever made. If patience is not a virtue in your life, go with the MBP. There IS no waiting. To download, to share, to just get online and startup. Its the fastest computer on the market. Its faster (mine is) than even any of the Imacs.

Currently I have a HP PC laptop, and in about 2 years, I plan on buying the Apple Macbook.

In my opinion, PCs are so slow, and they crash easily, where the Apple Macbooks control viruses very easily.

I Love Apple products, such as iPod, and Macbooks.

you dont even have to be a machinist to recognize the beauty of the way its made. they could have easily made a case by injection molding like everybody else, but no.. this has gone through really fine machining which is almost making it feel less mass produced, and more time put into it.

Good job apple.

We're machinists, and have always admired the workmanship of these units, but didn't realize the high value they put into these unibodies. It's the same technology we use to make high tolerance aircraft parts. Very impressive. Thanks for posting.
