That's where you're wrong. Even Connie's own VA--Kat--confirmed that the original Imagineers, including her father, toyed with various ideas for the Beating Heart Bride. Sure, Connie is the only officially official name, but many Cast Members & fans alike came up with names for the original bride (Emily being the most popular), whose tragic love story doesn't mesh with Connie as a black widow.
@TherealRNO The previous brides had NO names. Constance is the only bride in the attic to be officially named by WDI. The heartbeat is still there - and quite loud. Makes me wonder why it's still there, as Chatty Connie has no heart, so the sound effect serves no purpose. Unless - they're leaving it in there for the possible return of the Hatbox Ghost...
@gerryu21220: Yes, that's the only reason. In fact, The Hatbox Ghost is the only ghost Connie could marry, since Master Gracey--our Ghost Host--hanged himself & the Mansion clearly reinforced the fact that--exorcisms aside--you cannot kill what's already dead. In fact, it was Connie's own VA--Kat--who told one of the many stories about the Beating Heart Bride via Nupial Doom, so "Emily" is still there, in effect, since no spirit can ever leave the Mansion once bound by its curse.
@TherealRNO Master Gracey is not the Ghost Host. Most of these names and stories are merely fan fiction. Check the "The Long-Forgotten Haunted Mansion Effect Thread 7: Further Realms of Fright" on MiceChat. There is physical evidence that at one point, Phineas Pock was to be the "Lord and Master" and the Ghost Host, but that idea was scrapped before the Mansion opened. Master Gracey is the dark-haired gentleman in the changing portrait. The Ghost Host is shown in another portrait in a noose.
@gerryu21220: Those fan-fiction stories were made by Cast Members and Imagineers, so they're official. Read Jeff's Unofficial History of The Haunted Mansion comprehensive book.
@TherealRNO Problem is, it's "Unofficial". If it doesn't come from the attraction itself, or an official, documented source at Disney, it doesn't count. They can - on rare occasions - become official, like the names Gus, Ezra, and Phineas. For four decades, Disney would not even recognize that the Foyer Portrait at WDW was Master Gracey, and then the finally gave in with merchandise featuring him as Master Gracey. None of the other stories are officially recognized.
@gerryu21220: The thing is, that's just the book title. It is a doombuggies[dot]com exclusive, yet it is supported BY Disney--as per the anniversary panel, where Jeff plugs his book--and furthermore, Nupial Doom (the story about the Beating Heart Bride & the seafaring merchant doubling as a pirate) was recorded at Disney BY Connie's own VA, which is ironic, since Black Widow Bride Constance & the Beating Heart Bride (whom Cast Members & fans call Emily) are two different characters, really.

This version has not been used since 2007. It now features "Constance", the new bride figure.

@gerryu21220: Yeah, but Emily's heartbeat is still vaguely heard in the background of the refurbished track.
