You probably should go to channel 1, there's a lot less interference from signals on the same channel as well. It has about the same noise, but has less usage so less traffic.
For some reason, i did not saw the table-top/arches which, like you said, indicates for G/B modes..
So what is the reason for the difference ?
Why channel 6 gives me only B, while channel 13 gives me G?
Like you can see, i did not changed the B/G mode, just the Channels. So i guess what makes the difference is the "overload" wifi (part of them are in B mode)
When you changed the channel to the "war zone" :) channel 6, it couldn't go G mode, only B. If you notice the channel 13 had a defined table-top, that's 802.11G's OFDM modulation mode. Channel 6 only had arches, 802.11B's DSSS modulation.
