As if the Romulans would be using Thelaron radiation in the war against the invaders (going to say that instead of trying to spell the bloody race's name) while simultaneously being allies with the Federation and the Klingons. The Klingon Chancellor and the Federation Council would have been like "dude. you can't do that! *declares war on the Romulans*"
What i really disliked about the pilot was the whole "OHAI we need a Romulan cloaking device for our mission against the Arkhans (I know, I probably spelled it wrong)". It's been cannonised in J.M. Dillard's book "RESISTANCE" (almost immediately following Data's death in Nemesis) that all Federation starships constructed within the 10 years prior to the events of Nemesis were fitted with top-secret cloaking tech that superceded the Romulan cloak. However it required an Admiral's authent code.
"What's our next shot...?" "hmmm... lets go for a medium close with a bit of a hair cut." "Ya think?" "Yeah... why?" "Well... um... I think we may be overdoing that one a little... Really?" "Well yeah... a bit..." "What about a master?" "Nah.".
yeah i guess even though the federation and the romulan empire are now allies, there are still officers on both sides who are afraid of this change. but change can be for the better.
I think they are at each other's throats because the romulans were essentially an isolated government until around the start of the dominion war, and the Federation doesnt trust them.
It was awesome! I wish the two engineers would stop fighting though. Romulans are allies now, a starfleet officer shouldn't be fighting a fellow comrade, and an ally. I look forward to watching part 3. I hope it comes out soon.
