P.s. this reminds me of a beautiful Irish song - ""I've been too long away from this country, too long with my head to the ground, I've been to some far away countries, with nothing to show for it all." Your voice is beautiful. So warm and rich. If u r ever in Geneva Switzerland, look me up and lets do some harp and voice! :-) pls post more!
Thank you so much Kirsty. My grandparents were Griffiths but we dropped the s in the US. Maybe we're kin some long time ago! Been to europe many times, but not Geneva. Right now my computer is dead, had to drag out my old clunker so I cant post any more for a while Cheers from Richard
My friend please note that you are singing "Bugail Aberdyfi" which means the Shepherd of Aberdovey, not "Clychau Aberdyfi," which means the Bells of Aberdovey. Totally different songs with different tunes. I must say though your pronounciation is very good considering you aren't Welsh and the photos are very nice too. Diolch yn fawr!
I have made this same mistake many times. Old habits are hard to break. It goes back to a recording I heard of Thomas L. Thomas 30 years ago, and Ive never been able to correct it, yes, completely different songs. Its been a long time. I have been looking for music to Can Y Bugail, song of the Shepherd too, maybe Ill find it some day. Wish someone would post a Thomas L. Thomas song, by the way.
I LOVE this - reminds me of my homeland ..... just beautiful
