look at the graphics of half life they are amazing for that time I mean they are better then most games of 2000-2007

I don't judge games by their graphics but I've always noticed valve being a head of everyone the source engine was better then anything out there in 2004

@FlyingAce1016 true. i personally dont care about graphics. Also in my opinion graphics such as those in the SOURCE engine they're about as realistic and "perfect" as they should be. Anything beyond that is unneccessary. Sure most ppl incl. myself are glad to be out of those mid 90s days when likes of duke nukem 3d came out with characters/enemies/items were still nothing more than sprites. But Half Life (even the first one) was good enough, FULLY 3D with decent sound, and AMAZING gameplay.

@BenTennison16 nowadays its just graphics graphics graphics so unless you have a MEGA computer or Xbox/PS3 you cant play shit like CoD and similar crap. In my opinion, graphics reached their peak in around 2002-2003 . After that not much change has been seen visually but the hardware req's have risen exponentially.

@BenTennison16 A mega computer? Why would you need a mega computer? A decent gaming rig completely overpowers any console today, you make it seem like you need something special to run these games.

@BenTennison16 lol. you must of had missed a lot of games pre 02 to say that. also the notion of mega computer is flawed. a game can be played on any computer so as long as it meets the quota. even then some people are able to re position the resources of the game and the computer and run them on lesser rigs.

gordon freeman is better than any typical action heroes. he's more realistic, and he's different than all the douches in other games, like farcry or gears of wars. not saying they're bad games, just that they're always trying to make the main character as perfect as possible, which gets pretty boring.

Valve and Rockstar are the best companys, here in Brazil we say that valve "tira leite de pedra" it means that Valve can make exellent games that run in low to medium end hardwares, when they made the original xbox version of half-life 2 it was clear that there's nothing they can't handle
