I'll agree most gothic rock is forgotten or impossible to find. It's hard being 19 in this day and age and walking into a record store and asking for The Nephilim, or Sisters of Mercy, or Virgin Prunes and all the cashier can do is go "uhhhh....you mean Marilyn Manson?" I don't even like Manson >< I found a goth rock compilation CD at a garage sale-and the rest I just look for on YouTube.
@MarinoXDesun sadly this is true most kids now adays have no idea what goth is supposed to be. You cant even mention post-punk without them spouting off some dumb shit about green day or something.
@MarinoXDesun a lot of people listen to this. the goths today are so fake now, hey look a new korn album. its like that not goth. Death rock, Gothic rock, and Horror punk is forever. Its our jobs to show the kids what is good music.
we keep it alive marino buy forcing it down their throats.. ahem .." hey there whipper snappers.. we arent dead yet.. you cant take this from us.... we know all the originators of the form.. and you need to learn " lol so adopt a goth today..and teach em the origins of everything..
@MarinoXDesun I'm 23 and I like this stuff - more so than "modern" goth like EBM (to me, that's just dance/rave music) - I do like my metal as well - but not the extreme metal genres very much
@barrry9 today's EBM sortof... sucks. It takes a lot from rave culture, which is fine if you're into that, but it's just not appealing for those who like the older stuff. But old, even proto-EBM gets me all hot and bothered. I think there's something to be said for a song that can make you dance, for me this is one of those songs.
@LemonStamp Yeah a few of my mates who are older (in their 30's) have said that "old" EBM is quite good and not like the boring "heavy Ibiza" stuff you get now :p
@aritnem434343@MarinoXDesun 18 here :) When I was 13 I really wanted to be a part of the goth culture in Toronto but I was too young/alone in it, plus I thought I had to like extremely angry, fast-moving trash to not be exiled from a goth club. Didn't know my lighter, typical fare like the Cure and Depeche Mode actually had something to do with it (though the heavier industrial stuff is appealing now). but people should know that "goth music" is actually quite a varied group of musical genres.
@MarinoXDesun such a shame. i remember such great picnics listening to this stuff.

A lot of "swoop" dancing and clove cigarettes.
