  • We dont need recognition ... Infact i think we are doing very well because we are not recognised :)

However if Somaliland was recognised there would be alot of corrutpion and we wont be as free as we are today ... So yes thats my opinion , I can say Im a free somalilander because we are not recognised lol

But with recognition comes with limits to our freedom which is always not very good :)

  • Reqrezentin not exactly see somaliland is not making new borders. just the post colonial borders. afxakame the president of the so called somaliland is gadabuursii i dont think his people are against somaliland.

  • WHAT MAKES Those (African junkeys to ReconZ our Country Aka: Pandoras box or whateva :S !..

We Landers can make it with out any ReconigZ! think alaah for our Gift !manshaalah !

  • The good professor has failed to let his audience know what these legal standings are! British Somaliland from legal prospective has no ground to stand. If the power that be become foolish enough and recognise the claims of a minority group in the North of Somalia ( I am from former British Somaliland, Sool & Sanaag regions); in particular the agenda pushed by the Isaaq clan it will result a terrible civil war between the secessionists Isaaq and other clans namely Harti and Gadabursi.

  • Dear Afxakame it is not strange that you disagree professor's conclusion, because you born as a Somali and we Somalis consciously or unconsciously can not free ourselves from our tribal allegiance. Difference between you and this scholars is simple; they do not have a tribe and they deal this legal standing rational not by tribal feeling.

  • Legally there is a good case. Valid point now the ball is in the AU's corner and has been since 2005!

  • Viva Somaliland! and may allah help Somalia

  • Well said to Prof. Paul D. Williams. You are a very knowledgeable expert in the Horn of Africa region. I concur with all you said about Somaliland and anyone who digs for the facts about Somaliland comes to the same conclusion that Somaliland is a unique case in Africa and has developed its own State by its own and deserves to be supported as a democratic rolemodel State for the region and Africa at large.

  • i think so . let tem take their time. cahnge will came.

  • interesting,,,So its the African community thats holding back Somalilands recognition eh,,,

  • That ain't news.. It will give all the conflicts in Africa an example...
