  • This performance improves as it goes along - the Hungarian March was very uninspiring, however Ruxandra Donose is excellent and Charles Dutoit seems to be getting back to his usual high standards. I think Willard White is disappointing, maybe this music does not suit him. Jean-Pierr Furlan, very good.

  • No it's not the wonderful Suntory Hall. Don't know where or when this was recorded I'd guess about 10 years ago. Dutoit is possibly the best interpreter of Berlioz today his recording of Les Troyens is outstanding although the singers are not the best.

  • Wonderful!

When was this performance, and where did it take place? Suntory Hall in Tokyo?

  • this was the very first opera i ever saw... performed by the St. Louis Symphony... i fell in love with this the very first time i heard it

  • What a gorgeous voice!

  • Excellent Donose with a mediocre orchestra and direction.

  • totally agree!

  • Totally disagree about the orchestra and direction...... I thought it was fabulous across the board.

  • Well... in your profile I can see how much you knows about classical music...

  • Why?... can you explain me? thanks in advance

  • Ruxandra, sei brava e sempre bella! Miss you!
