  • Thos is amazong

  • Awww :)

  • I have a question, was the mother pushing at all or was she just letting her natural contractions ease the baby out? Also what are your tips for birth that will lessen the chances of tearing the hymen?

  • @lovins88 The mom was not "pushing" in the way it is commonly done in the hospital, it was more like letting the baby move down and out with contractions. It was her 3rd baby. Hypnobirthing is a great way to prepare for a natural birth. hypnobirthing (dot) com

  • Greetings,

It was awesome to see this video clip I had a home water birth and also had my baby girl this way however had no pictures for me to look at just my husband and older children telling me.

    Thanks

  • Amazing, am pregnant now,am planning to do this way,but am afraid ..either success or bcome worst ..is this really no pain..how she handle her emotion + relax?? Amazing! !!!

  • Is the mom in any pain? She looks like she isn't moving at all and completely relaxed. Is this her first baby? The sac looks like it would be more painful because it looks so much bigger than the actual baby! Having that huge sac come out of her looks like it would hurt her a lot!

  • OMFG! I NEVER SAW ANYTHING LIKE THAT BE4

  • great job!

  • A doctor told me that not breaking the sac is bad because of the doctor not knowing if theres meconium in the sac which the baby can ingest.

  • @MissBeautyGal that doctor unfortunately told you a big fat myth. If there is meconium present, there is nothing the doctor or midwife can do about it until baby is born anyway. The course of action is to suction the baby, which can actually push the meconium farther into baby's lungs making the problem worse, but unfortunately there aren't any other methods used for meconium aspiration. Also, just because meconium is present does not mean aspiration took place.

  • THAT WAS AMAZING!

  • that was beautiful really beautiful and just forget all the negitive comments theres always gunna be some willingto ruin it ofr others. P.s did you know it is supposed to be lucky and that your child will be blessed if born in it's waters??? :) xx

  • It is a sad society where a movie of birth is considered inappropriate.

  • Thank you for sharing. Beautiful!

  • WOW!!! What an amazing video! I am on the fence about water births! But I think in this case, it probably helped the situation - as the sac stayed intact!

  • i heard that babies born in a sac is a good luck charm....nothing wrong with it at all in my opinion...and ive seen it!

  • wow that was lovely babies born in there sacs in ireland are lucky babies congrats on your bundle

  • hello! can you tell me where i can see the whole movie??

I'm a student midwife. I would also like to ask you if you know where i could get as many info as possible about hypnobirth and other alternative ways of giving birth??

I am doing my study on this subject and here in Greece hypnobirth is not known...

I would really like to explore it and write about it!

  • Amazing. My first pregnancy was with twin girls and Baby A was born en-caul (in her entire sac). I didn't get to see her as she emerged though (due to my huge belly in the way!) So seeing this video was amazing.

  • Interesting I didn't know a baby could be delivered while still in their sac was possible...

  • wow I still remember my wife's water birth 2years ago it was pretty relaxing and she didn't even scream or flinch the labour was about 2hours gave birth to 4.5kg porky boy(we checked the weight across the rd in woolworths) awesome experiance it was her first homebirth and we are preparing for another waterbirth in about 5months to no 5baby can't wait to meet another porky

  • I have always wanted a calm, mom-driven birth. I would love to not only labor in water, but deliver. It seems like it is unlikely to happen as I am a high-risk pregnancy due to my disabilities. Can this still be an option? What do I have to consider?

  • @SunandMarius It all depends on what your disabilities are. Have you searched for midwives or birth centers in your area?

  • @SunandMarius this can been done my step mom had my brother jaiden November 16 he is almost a year he is ten months she also had them same problem as you but yes it is possible

  • @SunandMarius I'm disabled and had a "high risk" pregnancy, and recently had a very calm, mom-centered home birth (my second VBAC). I actually have a video of it on my channel that I just put up.

Find a midwife that you click with and make your needs known right away. Lots of moms with disabilities have wonderful home or hospital births. :)

  • Beautiful!!

  • Amazing!

  • This seems like the best way to have a baby. I'm going to seek a water birth. Thank you for sharing this!

  • Very interesting to watch! never new that this could happen. And what a peacefull mom! I was so gratefull to get my baby when is was being born in the water. Maybe it was needed at the time but I must agree the midwives hands seem a bit interveening after such a calm labour.

  • What causes the child to be born in the water sac? Is that a bad thing or good thing? Beautiful video btw thank you for sharing! :-)

  • @TJnJadasmommy Most of the time, the sac will break on it's own prior to or during the birth. In this case, it just happened to stay intact. It is not a good or bad thing, just kinda cool. There are those who say babies born in the sac (aka in caul) have special sight.

  • @BirthBliss It's very interesting, never seen nothing like it. I wanted to have my 2nd one via water but, the hospital I went to didn't do it. Also I was considered high risk *sigh*

I really would have loved to have tried to do it at least.

  • I just gave birth (yesterday) to my 2nd child, a girl who was "born in the caul" here at home, in water. We wished we had videotaped. We feel truly blessed as and our midwives were delighted as these children are considered lucky in many ways. This was beautiful to watch. Thank you for sharing!

  • That was great :) thank you for sharing!

  • i'm still wondering how i got on this and my profile states i'm 17 and not 18 couldn't this be flagged as inappropriate ?

  • I was born with a caul but have never experienced anything amazing. Although others, including a psychic, have said I am different. I do have a small hole on the palm of my left hand and I have read that some caulbearers have a small scar on their spine. I have just started a website for caulbearers. called caulbaby

  • i took me a while to realize that i was watching a birth

  • Do water births hurt less? And why does it take so long? It seems like it would hurt to have the baby sitting there like that for so long. But yeah, do water births hurt less?

  • @Starr2982 Yes, they hurt far less but don't take any longer, in fact, my experience has been that once I get into the tub the birth follows within minutes.

  • woooooooooooooooooooooow :))))

  • @kezeisha sorry you feel this way. Yes, in most cases the sac does break on it's own before birth.

  • @kezeisha U make no sense.

  • @kezeisha so ignorant. you should do some research or know something about babies being born in caul before you comment.

  • Thank you for posting but I have a question woul the baby drown??

  • @bouncygirl1000 The baby doesn't try to breath until his/her head comes out into the air... the pressure change sparks the natural reflex to inhale and inflate the lungs for the first time. The babies can be kept underwater for several minutes after they are born, actually... as long as their heads don't come out of the water... it's very relaxing for the baby - going from one warm, under-water environment to another... makes birth less traumatizing for the baby! ;-D

  • Thanks for letting us watch :)

  • Eh...Sterile hospital room surrounded by well trained medical staff with state-of-the-art equipment still seems preferable.

  • That was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your birth.

  • i am a caulbearer too.

  • I'm curious as to why you switched to a hands on approach to deliver the shoulders. The birth seemed to be progressing well to me, and I've actually never seen a hands on approach in any waterbirth before. Was there a specific reason that made you decide to assist in delivering the shoulders?

  • Beautiful, I didnt realise the baby could be born with the sack totally in tact!

  • This is so beautiful! I want a home water birth next go around.

  • This is just amazing. & that mama looks great!

  • amazing and so beautiful!! i loved every minute of it!

  • this was beautiful! i've never seen a baby come out still in the SAC!!!! amazing.....i'm becoming more & more inspired to choose a water birth in the future when my fiance & i start to have a family....i'm terrified of the hospital environment, & i would rather not give birth with all the drugs, and technology. hospital births seem more like a busines to me. i'd like to experience everything. the babies seem so peaceful in the water, it must be soothing for the mother to see them so calm.

  • Wait...so babies can breath underwater?

  • @LordOfYahoo The baby's not breathing yet. Remember that it was lying in a sac of fluid before being born into the water. It's only when it is brought into the air that it's going to breathe.

  • please, could you share what the name is of the music and artist? I am recording my own relaxation scripts for my birth and I would love to listen to that music then.`

    Or does anyone else know?

  • isn't this bad? wat if the baby drowns

  • @LilTash262 The baby will not drown. a) the baby has lived in water it's entire existence. b) the stimulus to breathe comes when the temperature and pressure change once the baby is brought to the surface. Very common question; thanks for asking it again.

  • how come there was that close up at the lips?

  • very interesting. The woman does not seem to be in much pain. can you verify this? Can any doctor help in the delivery or he must be specialised?

  • @cyberlord64 This is a midwife-led birth. There are some docs who do waterbirth, but the vast majority of waterbirths are done by midwives.

  • @cyberlord64 Its also A Hypnobirth... the Labor technique is amazing and I am using it with my birth... the basis of it is that you don't "push" your body natural expels the baby with your breathing and and it helps that you are in oooober relaxed... Kinda how animals birth their babies :)

  • umm eww

  • This us very Inspiration to young adults to start a family.

  • amazing. i never new that can happen.

  • This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.WOW!!!:)

  • amazing moment

    thanks for sharing

  • WOW AMAZING!!! very beautiful!!!

  • Amazing!

  • Very interesting video, especially the information you gave about it. Beautiful, calming music, too. What's the song name and who is playing it?

  • my water was broke by the dr at 12:20am to get labor going ( i was induced) and i was at 2cm, i didnt deliver her until 12:03pm, her poor head was so disfigured for a few hours from a dry birth, they rush things way to much now adays

  • Amazing...I wonder what the statistics are on these kinds of births?

  • Apparently when a baby is born in its sack. It's considered to bring good luck to the baby and the parents. What is this song? It's quite mystical and peaceful. Thank you for posting this.

  • Comment removed

  • 2 things annoyed me about this beautiful video. the stupid flashlight in poor bubby's face constantly and also how hands on the midwife became towards the end.

  • the mother may have asked her to.

  • the flashlight maybe but the hands on approach was not a good idea at all.

  • I hope it was actually a calm birth...I think the music was drowning out the screams...Why did it seem to take so long for the whole baby to come out once the head was out?

  • @shybettigurl no screaming, mom actually was really quiet. and the flashlight was so that we could get better quality video. Both parents really wanted us to video it, so we could educate people.

  • @BirthBliss doesn't it hurt more, since the sac is bigger than the child alone? (i'm not a mum and i'm not even pregnant yet, but i'm considering it for the future)

  • @vairaBerlin the sac is very flexible and full of liquid, it conforms the shape of the baby so it isn't solid, isn't really "bigger" than the baby and causes no extra pain. The sac usually ruptures during labor on its own, it is rare for a baby to be born in the sac or "in the caul". In many cultures a baby born in the caul is considered to have good fortune.

  • @LynnFingerhut : thank you!

  • My full-term baby was born in the caul after a precipitous labor (land birth!), and the midwife was stunned. He came out much faster than this baby. I was shocked but thrilled.

  • I never even thought about this being a possibility until I stumbled across this video! Very lovely to see, looks very calm and peaceful but that might be the music :P

Thank you for putting this up =]

  • this is awesome!

    so so beautiful :]

  • Beautiful :)

  • This has got to be the coolest and most beautiful thing I have ever seen!

  • I wanna do this!

  • looks really amazing. Thanks for sharing this video. Really appreciate seeing calm births.

  • I fail to see how this video isn't suitable for minors.

  • Yeah, I had to get on my 18+ account sadly. Religious nuts, what can you say about them?

  • Well, with all due respect, I think it's appropriate that certain precautions are taken to avoid having a minor stumble unexpectedly upon something like this. While I don't disagree that minors can benefit from watching this, I do agree with the appropriateness of an adult (preferably a parent or teacher) presenting videos of this nature to minors. I also even think it's a bit more respectable to the mother in the video. Just another perspective from a non-religious nut.

  • So what possible harm, could I, a minor, get out of this? I was 13 at the time of posting, and probably at the age of 7 I would find this acceptable.

  • Better safe than banned lol

  • that mom looks soooo calm.

  • Esta es la mejor MARAVILLA que hay en el mundo.

Este video, deberia ser apto para todos los publicos.

  • My 3rd baby was born in the caul , easiest birth lol! What an amazing experiance, i just wish i could have seen it too, unfortunalty i missed it all :(

  • wow it's so wonderfull

  • the mom looks so calm!

  • wow its so beautiful birthgiving is beautiful wow

  • thanks for sharing! my 4th baby was born at home with her head in the sac :) they say it bring luck to the child!

  • Can you share anything about the life of your 4th baby that distinguishes him/her as a "lucky" child? Just curious.

  • hmmm... well, actualy not really :D

or let's just say: not yet! Maybe she didn't yet need her luck? ;)

Wish your lives to be always filled with luck and love!

  • look lik laying egg

  • well I suppose one could say that laying eggs is to chickens what birth is to home sapiens, but I think you're missing the...magic (for lack of a better word).

  • That was amazing

  • Wow, that is one strong sac! Midwife looked as though she were struggling to break it.

It was so hard to tell when the head came out. So strange, yet so beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Making me want to not go to a doctor even more! (that's a good thing)

  • u'd rather have ur wife have a c-section? thats pretty self-fish. she'll be going through more pain AFTER the birth. she'll have to heal. another thing, babies are swimming in liquid and they get their oxygen from the umbilical cord. so how could he suffocate if he's already in water? it's actually more unfair for ur wife and ur baby to go through a c-section unless it's absolutely necessary. it's more fair to give birth like this cuz the drugs from the epidural and stuff won't affect the baby.

  • yeah i know right lmao.. gotta love morons

  • That was so so so peaceful .. Would have loved to have had an experience like that .. Very well shot and documented .. Beautiful

  • babies have a special valve which opens and closes, allowing them to stay under water. they live in amniotic fluid for 9 months...........

did you do any sex ed at school??!!

  • Looks like she is laying an egg....

  • lmao

  • Jesus Christ... i think that was my first time too, seeing a baby born like that..-_-"

but ohh gosh congrat! i know its a beautiful baby...;) GBU!

  • I would of liked to see the rest of the sac pushed out intact before the midwife broke it up halfway.

  • Wow,I think thats the first time I ever scene a baby being born were the camera was zoomed in like that. Usualy the camera is not showing the head of the baby comming out like that on tv, you know medical channel stuff like that. I think now when I become a dad I will be better perpared.

  • hi, can anybody help me here-i don't seem to be able to watch this video and the other one from birthbliss!it just doesn't run...i really wanna see it!have no problem otherwise with my computer....!

  • continuation ... i suggest you educate yourself a little bit. and suggesting that you rather your wife have c-section over a vaginal birth? ridiculous as well. pls.

ps. those two comments were for

    snimesi.

    this video was BEAUTIFUL!

  • oh man, do you know how stupid you sound here? i didn't think people like you existed, seriously, DROWNING THE BABY? do you know what your child lives in in utero?? a sac of WATER. have you ever wondered why a woman's water breaks before delivering? the baby doesn't even take it's first breath until there AIR, why the hell would you assume the baby takes a breath while entering the world the exact same way it lived for 9 months in the womb?

  • That's awesome! My daughter was almost born in the caul but it was so freakin' hard to push her out with that bubble around her head! My midwife didn't "break" her water but put pressure on it while I pushed and eventually it popped. That was the most AMAZING feeling when that happened, I felt like her head shrunk down to half the size! This is amazing though. It's supposed to be a sign of intelligence. Does anyone else think it looks like she's laying an egg?? :)

  • same happened with my baby, i had waterbirth, and her head was almost born in the sac...but it burst as her head was born...felt it go like you and it was the weirdest feeling!

  • Totally! We had a waterbirth at the birth center in Denver...totally awesome! Love the lovely waterbirth! definitely doing a home birth next time :)

  • It's actually amazing for both mother and baby. It's less traumatic for the child because it's in it's natural environment until it's completely out, and as long as the baby is still connected to the placenta by the umbilical cord, it doesn't really need to breathe on it's own. So it's likely that the baby didn't even draw breath until it was out of the water. Water births also ease the pain of childbirth for women who decide to do natural births. This is how I'm planning my next one in May.

  • thats because youre an idiot man. maybe you should ask you wofe if she would rather has a peaceful birth with the ability to bond immediately with her child... or be sliced open with a scalpel!

  • that was amazing.

  • Wow! It looked like she was giving birth to the moon! My son was born in the caul too :) I wish I had footage like this!

  • That was amazing!

  • i feel as though we have borne witness to an extraordinarily holy event. many blessings & thanks to the family for sharing this moment with us.

  • Lol, Steph! (;P) I was thinkin', "I've heard about the ping-pong ball trick, but sheesh!"

Very cool thing to see, though! I'd only read about sac births until I saw this!

Thanks for posting this amazing birth! (:D)

  • I just got done with an interview with my mother about my birth and I was born still in the sac, the water hadn't broken! Someone told her that there was a folk tale or something about children (or boys in particular) being born without the water breaking. Anyone know what such a folk tale might be?

  • This is known as being born 'in the caul' - the sac used to be bottled years ago and sailors would buy them for a v high price - its rare. Babies born in the caul were said to never drown and sailors would buy the preserved sac for good luck. Bc its a rare event, babies born in the caul were seen as special or of auspicious birth - Napolean Bonaparte was supposedly a 'caulbearer' or born in the caul. I think its really special that you were born in the caul - congrats to you and yr ma!

  • Apparently years & years & years ago the sac from a baby who was born in the caul was prized by sailors who dried it and kept it as protection from drowning - as a baby born in the caul is said to be protected from death by drowning. Something like that anyway.

  • @Corailie Apparently you will never drown if you are born in your sac

  • wow!!!! just perfect!!

  • amazing, my son was born in the bag, i felt like i missed out coz i didnt see lol! thanks for sharing this!

  • beautiful. just beautiful.

  • that was beautiful! I saw a baby born in the caul, but the sac ruptured as the shoulders were born.

  • that was amazing and beautiful! thanks for sharing

  • Amazing and totally awesome!

  • A baby born 'in the caul' is said to be very lucky. Not sure on the exact words but it is regarded as a special baby.

  • Just beautiful. Thank you so much x

  • I just wanna know why the midwife was wearing..gloves? I mean once you put your hand in the water you pretty much get them water logged wouldn't you?

  • yeah, that's true. But the gloves still protect me from direct contact with any blood or baby poop, after the baby comes out. We do have shoulder length gloves to wear if we are ever really concerned about contamination. Our clients tend to be super-healthy, so I am not too worried about a little watered-down body emissions.

  • thats what it looks like when animals like cats and dogs are born

  • except I've never had success coaxing my cats into the birth tub! LOL

  • whoa.

  • is it better if the baby is born in the sac?

  • this is amazing seriously how a woman can have another human being inside of her i give her props

  • Is there any benefits from this ?

  • studies from around the world have shown that women who labor & birth in the water have:

    a) less need for pain meds

    b) shorter labors and faster births

    c) less vaginal tearing

There is no increase in risk to the baby and some studies showed slightly lower rates of newborn complications, including infection.

  • how big is the sac in proportion to the baby? Does it fit right around him or is it bigger?

  • The sac is filled with water, so it is bigger than the baby. Imagine a baby inside a balloon.

  • They never showed us this in my Child Development classes back when I was working on my degree!!! That was AMAZING!!! WOW!!!

  • huh

    wow

    weird/cool

  • so this seems... easy.. O_o . I would like to learn what your experience is like? Pain? Difficulty?

  • I am NOT the woman in the video but I gave birth at home in a tub of water and it was ... very hard work. I think most women who homebirth or birth naturally will tell you the same thing. For me, it was easier than having to work at giving birth with an epidural (done that too).

  • This is amazing to see- thank you for broadcasting this!

  • thank you for posting! absolutely beautiful. my last waterbirth my sons sac broke just as his head was crowning..en caul is such a special type of birth

  • Wow that was incredible!!! Thank you so much for sharing that! Can't wait til the release of the video.

  • this was so interesting for me to watch as 18 months ago I too gave birth to my son underwater and in the Caul. We had him at home and it was pretty similiar to this, except he came out much quicker and the caul broke as his body entered the pool. Isn't it fantastic? We are pregnanct again and I can't wait to homebirth a second time!

  • wow - truly amazing - i was aware of water birthing but didn't know about the caul...learn something new every day... about halfway thru i was reminded of bill cosby's explanation to a man of what giving birth is like... take your lower lip and pull it up over your head and you're just beginning to get an idea....:-)
