  • Every Day I look for your next video, Bruce you are good at this, and I'm looking forward to your up date on the total set up! it make's my day to see what you come up with the next! so thank You for your time! have a great day!!!!!

  • Sorry Bruce but i couldn't stop laughing at your fist comment about sitting there talking to well your self for 20mins, note to one self Bruce turn mic ON ;-) just a thought mate.great sense of humour your got as i can't get enough of your video's,yeah i remembered the CNY this year so i've got to wait before i put my next HK order in and after waiting about a month i'll spend twice as much LOL.

  • You could try selling the FPV backpack at SparkFun. Especially to US customers. They even provide the option to manufacture for you if your design is open source - just need to provide them the files. Check out the "sell your widget" link on their website. Admittedly it may end up being a bit expensive since their prices tend to be much higher than HobbyKing but they do provide excellent service. Or maybe try contacting HobbyKing and see if they can sell it for you.

  • thanks for the update regarding china post....damm....forgot that.....now waiting for my stuff....regards and best wishes for youre wife...

  • How's your wife doing?

  • Wasted time? Dress rehearsal!

  • haha paused the video at 0:38 and found the site where you got em! :)

Cant wait for the build video!

  • Bruce, how hot do they get when working on the bench?

  • @TheLaidukas I was surprised -- they run barely warm to the touch.

  • Transmitter is Tx5823, Receiver is RX5808. Seller is foxtechfpv.

  • @TheLaidukas Foxtech is "a" seller of these modules but they are more expensive than my source and last time I checked, FoxtechFPV had none in stock anyway.

  • Congratulations Bruce! I'm Very Happy For You (and us)!

Last Year Just Before Our Big Snow/Ice Storm, I Heard One of Our Weathermen Say - "Don't Shoot Me Folks, I'm in Sales Not Management!" I Thought That Was Very Clever!

    Thanks Again Bruce, You Rock!

  • MAV-58T1103: CE transmitter module,

  • Very exciting :) Can't wait for this bruce!

  • you think you have bad weather? i woke up this morning with frost ON MY BED!!!! turns out my dog left the door open at 3am =/

  • Ha! So you read minds as well. Was going to ask how you get so much stuff into one life and you answer me before I ask the question. Get up at six, do twelve hours, repeat. Simples.

  • Blah, blah, routine, blah, blah I like it. Blah, blah, I will just have to wait until the next blah, blah. LOL. Love the way you put it out. Hope to learn more soon.

  • Great news and reviews, thank you.

  • I too got that dirty bubble wrap. I think it is recycled plastic of bad quality, it smelled like a 1 dollar store. :)

  • Bruce, What did you do for work before you stated full time in this field? you are just to good at making all this!? Rocket Scientist? Aerospace Engineer? what I meant to say on my last comment is all your reviews are the best I have seen anywhere! and I would like to see you open your own RC shop and put the rest out of business, I do not know what I typed last time!?

  • @Soldier53flyer I was doing freelance and contract writing while also repairing and building avionics systems.

  • Bruce,

Given the lead time for Chinese kit, could you please publish the source for the modules.

    Cheers Mate

    Alan

  • excellent! thanks for the updates. Glad to see/hear you are feeling good about your new venture.

  • Thanks Bruce. When I was sailing I complained about no wind. Riding bikes I complained about the wind. Solution... More than one activity. Kite surfing is the go in Melbourne now, always windy here.

Speaking of radios. HK has the 9X at 2 price points with same spec. Do you know if there is any real difference?

Oh! I believe old is an attitude. Plenty of enthusiastic life in you yet Bruce.

    Rick.

  • HobbyKing 5.8ghz 200mw tx rx combo $66.50. Please compair your DIY setup and uses the same skew and clover ant. Thank's

  • @RIPcombat The performance should be identical -- since the modules I'm using are also used in that setup from HK. The HK price doesn't include a camera though and the transmitter is quite a bit bigger/bulkier.

  • Great Bruce, just great. I get all the crap Summer weather here in Tasmania and then I watch your reviews.....AND I GET IT AGAIN! ;-)

  • Hi. I am hooked, after watching Trent on mygeekshow get started in FPV for about $200... well for £55 plus screen I am waiting with baited breath for the diy build of this kit for use in the UK. Keep up the reviews, I am subscribed and always enjoy your reviews and videos. I like your simple no-nonsense approach. Thanks

    Peter

  • I appreciate your time but this update had no value at all.

  • I'm anxious to see this build video and to start building it myself and testing it out. I would also like to see you build an antenna tracker which turns on 2 axis.

  • Bruce, this is by far the best reviews I have seen on your channel! As all ways Thank You, I hope you get a TV Channel! you worked for it! I still word like to see you open a RC shop and put the rest out of a job! But that is my opinion!

  • Bruce i ordered some lipo batts and various other items almost $200 worth of goodies 3 weeks before Christmas,it went through Singapore and is now marked "return to sender"!I am in USA,n.c.Has this ever happened to you? Will i ever get my stuff?I,m a platinum member so i hope HK takes care of me.Thanks for your vids and info, loving my AXN,great plane, cheers!

  • @MrJonnymellor Fortunately all my stuff has been delivered without any issues (of a postal type).

  • @MrJonnymellor Fortunately all my stuff has been delivered without any issues (of a postal nature).

  • @MrJonnymellor last year I haven't received 2 parcels from Hobby King. When I report about missing parcel HK just feed me with promises and no action. I lost hope to receive my goods. I am also a Platinum member of Hooby King

  • Really looking forward to the backpack videos/articles! Thanks again, wish i could subscribe two times!

  • where did you get the tx/rx microchips?

  • @rinureal If you pause the video you will see the model numbers TX5823 and RX5808. If you search on Google you will see one Chinese company selling them. ;)

  • @seibernator There is more than one company selling them and the prices vary quite a bit. I'm still checking to make sure I've got the best supplier before making a recommendation. Nothing worse than saying "buy here" and the company drops the ball leaving everybody out of pocket or waiting forever on delivery.

  • Bruce thank you for another video, I have the FrSky DHT-U and with the 8 channel white receiver although i don't get glitches or failures, the signal strength bar falls pretty low, while the plane is pretty close by, with the 4 channel the same, is that normal?

And again thank you for your work, it's a great help for us all.

  • @Unplugued Yes, it's quite normal for the signal strength to vary significantly, especially when the model is close -- it's usually caused by multi-pathing where a reflection of the signal clashes with the signal that has traveled directly and kind of cancels it out. As you've seen though, you won't get any glitches or loss of control.

  • thanks for the videos, glad your enjoying it

  • I think that charger is listening to you, Every time it gets ya! lol
