If someone could help me figure out what he is doing from 4:50 to 4:55 I would be very grateful. The angle is wrong to see the chords and I can't get it to sound right.
wow, marty is gettin it! the beginning was so gooood. i like that stuff. little jazz with some blues run. then 0:43 just gets me. felt the same way. THANKS MARTY YOU ROCK KEEP POSTIN!
Martry that improvisation there in the beggining. Was absolutly beautiful and rad. I could listen to that all day. I replayed it like 50 times to learn it. Absolutly gnarly dude. There's no doubt in my mind, you should be bottling that as "the elixer of chill' I'd consume that on my toast every morning. Owwwww marty, radd.. I'm going to replay that again.
i love the back track. but i want to ESCAPE from the blues pentatonic crap. i've played that so much. i want to start using chromatic scales and diminished scales but i dont nkow where to begin!
@nicedog1 a few good ones: boss loop station, digitech jam man, or if u want a good one for live situations the hardwire delay/looper is easy to use but only has 20 seconds of loop time.
General question...is it true that the "5" chord in a harmonized minor scale should be a minor chord (or minor seventh)? Wondering why with the minor 2-5-1's you see a dominant seventh chord as the 5 chord. Just sounds better I guess? Thanks
Super thanks for all your help and guidence...."The Force is Strong In This One", You rock, or in your words, Jam...... May your strings easily bend and not brake with true tone......"Ride On"
Great lesson man, brings the humble pentatonic scale to life. Not sure if you are aware but after you left, Darth Vader turned up and started dancing!!
You REALLY need to break down some of the theory/techniques that you used in that open solo. Please, pretty please, pretty pretty please. That is a style I don't have but need badly.
Alright, so it was already cool as hell, and THEN Vader shows up. Genius my man! I've enjoyed your work since lurking on next level, and as I am a single income father with four kids, lessons aren't in the future, so I have to lurk lurk lurk. Luckily you are so damn good and understandable. Thanks, bro! Pauly - Ocean City, MD

0:24 - 0:25 = the C# you re hitting in your phrase is outside the harmony, which at that time is Am D7, but you re not playing "outside" so it sounds kinda awful... turns D7 into a Dmaj7, breaking the IIm7-V7 circle you're proposing. can you please tell me what exercise should I do to increase my speed on finger picking.. (the melody u`re doing not the chords).. I can do ok but I kinda loose it and cannot really maintain it at constant speed (when playing fast)
