I am going to play this for a Recital at Arkansas State University and I was wondering why you are using a capo. i have the sheet music and it doesnt indicate one to be used.?

I composed this piece, so you can rest assured that this is the right key to play it in, even though someone in the publishing line didn't think it necessary to adhere to the original score, in which a capo is indicated. The piece was conceived in f sharp minor - but try playing it in that key without a capo!:-)...The key in which a key is conceived is not a matter of unimportance, and I was happy to be able to play the piece here to make the original intention clear.

My introduction to the guitar came from a wonderful musician called Martin Nicolai (sadly no longer with us). After six lessons he told me: 'It is impossible to teach you, since you know what you want to do!'...So we

just played together, and listened to Segovia

and Presti/Lagoya, my three 'idols'! I taught

myself to play the way I wanted to make music

- especially with the right hand...
