  • hoghuntingforum com

  • Sir, that was a very worthy and entertaining story and the campfire setting was absolutely perfect for it. I'm still chuckling. Thank you for posting this. I remember how scared I was the first time I heard them rooting along the bottom lands of the San Jaciento River here in Texas when I was just a teenager camping out. There weren't so many then compared to nowadays. Seems they've gotten meaner and a lot bigger nowadays, too.

You would be welcome around my campfire anytime, sir.

  • That was a great story, Thanks for sharing. You can tell it and keep me on the edge.

  • you didnt really tell us anything about hog hunting you just told us a story

  • Outstanding story! Thanks for a little true old Florida entertainment.

  • @clinthawkins1 това е върха . приятели това изисква голям професионализъм браво десятка от мен .със поздрави .

  • great vid and story thx

  • Good video! I have the same muzzle loader

  • You truely have a gift for story telling, sir, and should do us all a favor and post more. A 9 minute video can be very long, but this one really seemed much shorter. Attribute this to your ability to hold my interest. Excellent, sir.

  • Great story, I've heard many fish stories, But this hog story competes with any fish story I've heard. Love the production aspect of the campfire seen, came out great. Nice Video!

  • priceless! thanks

  • Fantastic story!

  • wow ur a real old cracker

  • Great vid!!!

  • omg 408!

  • You must be a genuine Florida Cracker. Nice story that was quite entertaining. This is the second time I have heard of A.W. Peterson Gun Shop in Mount Dora. I think one day I will go check it out since I live about 35 miles away from it.

  • @mako5972 : Never drove cattle, but yes, I'm a native Floridian. Peterson Gun Shop is well worth the stop - the museum is on the far side of the store and is free.

  • how do you like muzle loaders. my friend has a old one 50cal. its nice. but I prefer new age rifles. i want a 30.06

  • enjoyed your story

  • I also had a hog experiance, I was using my vintage sharps .50 1870 and i killed two attacking grizzly bears and I road my horse to the middle of a clearing when 39 hogs attacked me, all except 2 were over 2,000 pounds and i ran out of ammo so I had to kill the last 17 with a Ruger Single Six .22.

    Crazy shit

  • @darthfuzzel where do you hunt

  • lol hand full of fire crackers got tossed into the fire

  • f mdf

  • do you know any were i can go Hog Hunting in Arizona? if you do that would be great i been wanting to go Hog Hunting for a while now that i got my shotgun :)

  • Wild pigs are considered so much of a PEST, that they can be hunted year round..

  • nice story, could have done w/o the extra loud gun shot through my speakers though.

  • lol wow..i like it!

  • Great story. I liked this vid. ^^

  • MEGAPOWERFUL RIFLE!

  • This was so funny! Loved it. As a hunter, I so much enjoyed this. Many thanks!

  • great story.

  • Thank you for such a great video.

  • Sir. Thank you for a nice story. How many hogs were surrounding you? Are you sure? Ha Ha

  • I really didn't have time to count, but in every direction there were big black backs moving all around me and more were coming from a bayhead of cypress trees towards my direction. To a young kid it looked like thousands (of course that's not true).

  • @flagold Why a muzzle loader? That seemed foolish.

  • Was noce to ear this story, thanks man

  • Hogs were brought over to America by the Spanish. Good video.

  • @Victory1981 there were hogs in south america i believe incas and aztecs ate them regularly

  • Excellent story telling, great video

  • That ther shud scar the yung'ns at any hunt kamp!!

  • I like this one. It's experience that makes us rich.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you so much Ill try not to make the same mistake

  • This is hilarious.

  • THANKS!

  • Damn! I was eagerly anticipating the part when you actually shot a hog in real time.

  • you berklee guys are sadistic

  • What a fantastic video! It really did the trick of taking out to the field with you, hanging on to every word. With the report of the rifle singing in my ears, I eagarly awaited the rest of the story.

  • do you eat what you hunt. I love the meat of wild pig.

  • mad bushwacker

  • nothing but a mule skinner.......

  • HOGS FCUKING RULE!

    because of man's stupidity..

  • I like how you do storytelling. Thanks!

  • stop the slathering swine

  • WOW, great story!

  • if some1 shot at me for being me i would probably be shooting back mr.Peta

  • are you nuts? Its called hunting, most of us eat them. Sorry not everything comes from the local store. You know how much we pay in taxes and fees to help protect the areas we hunt?

  • friggin PETA members man.

    Kill Bodies

  • You mean like chasing them down and slicing open their nuts?

I'm studying ecology for a carrier in impact mitigation. Hunting is the best way to control overpopulated game species, you have to pay people to go out and actively manage a population using birth controll.

That takes organization and supplies along with money. Allowing recreational hunting ensures that locals will go do the work for FREE and spend their own money in local shops to do it.

  • ok smart guy you go out n try n get a pill down their throats lol let us all know how it goes for ya!

  • Do you have any idea of what these things do to land, wildlife, and surrounding ecosystems as a whole? Didn't think so

  • Excellent story teller...and imagination.

  • Question, i never hunt boar before:

Q: does boar meat taste good?

Q: does a 12 ga. shot gun bring down a boar?

  • as long as u have a deer slug in it should do the job

  • im using a 7mm... my dad uses a 30/06...

i think i 12 gauge might bring one down. but you might want to check it out

  • Yes Boar meat is AWESOME!!!

  • Does it taste like regular pig? I think it'd taste like regular pig only more gamier, MMMMMMMMMMM BOAR BACON!

  • To answer your question, Yes a 12 gauge will bring a wild boar down you don't have to be close either. A friend of mine shot a 150 sow with his 20 gauge at 70 yards running and dropped it. All you need is good shot placement. To ConservativeRev, I have never been able to get bacon off a wild hog. You musthave found a trick I don't know about.

  • Same here please let me know the trick to get Bacon off a wild hog. Just not enough belly on them to get anything off of.

  • lol, I've been "surrounded" by the little beasties myself.

Defeintly don't remember climbing my tree eigther ;)

My brother was caught out in a group at night once, we hear about 3 shots and nothing. Go to check on him and he was also in a tree, riffle on the ground. He basicly shot and dropped everything XD

I love hog hunting in my State, as it's not legally considered hunting as feral hogs are invaders and not native. Pretty much the same as going on a rat hunt.

  • ha! thats pretty crazy, you guys have some mean ass pigs on the main land, I'v been charged a few times by pigs, but i live and hunt in Hawaii, and the pigs here are a cross between razor backs and domestics, so they're not that dangerous, and a bit smaller, but there have been reports of 400 pounders, but what we've got to worry about when hunting is the wild dogs, they've been known to attack humans

  • lol Oldtimer

  • Ive hunted three lakes ranch hundreds of times. its a great chunk of land.

  • reminds me of paul harvey, great story!

Very well done! Outstanding! Loved it!

  • VERY COOL BRO VERY COOL

  • Oh my god, this was awesome!!!

  • Thats a great intro!! Love it! reminds me of an old western or something!!

  • Great story!

  • Well, if we are truthful we might say we all have been there a time or two. I remember up in Ohio one cold winter Pheasant hunting and much to my surprise mistakenly shooting a duck. I think my dear late brother called it "Buck fever". Hmmmmmm... Luckily I was not found out by the local game warden. Great video production, I'm sure a lot of work goes in to it,

    Happy Thanksgiving, Jack

  • Great movie! Put together very professionally.

  • You have outdone yourself my friend!

    This is really funny.

I have a family of hunters and they will sure get a kick out of this!

  • A fine job of storytelling FG!

    Thanks!

  • Hmmm. I've never asked myself the question until now: did Europeans bring hogs to North America, or were they indigenous (or did the Indians bring them 10k years ago)??
