  • This is making me want to cry this morning. Little Anthony and The Imperials stood apart from the other male groups of that day. You couldn't really define them, they were so unique, sophisticated, polished.....the adjectives don't end there.....This gives me thoughts of teenage years and dances, those happy/sad thoughts...thanks for sharing.

  • The 1st time I heard this song was when I five years old and it was performed by Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66.

I had no idea that Little Anthony & The Imperials were the original recoding artists of this song.

  • Great song, love it.............

  • OMG THIS SONG IS THE BEST <3

  • The high point of this song is musical magic:

"I - must - think - of - a - wa-aY! ... into your heart ...." With that French horn hitting those high notes at the end of those 2 lines. Yes, musical magic.

  • THIS IS MY SONG!

  • All the alleged singers of today, THIS is how you sing!

  • @ilmsff7 I second that!!

  • i think todays artist should hear this song and then go hang there heads in shame , because nothing, and i mean nothing, can compare to this timeless classic

  • @60srocker46 Well put, as a boy growing up in Detroit we were privileged to be swamped with talent the likes of which was only matched by the UK.

    So classic, so much class.

  • Damn! This song song is smooth!!!

  • One person who is going out of his head!!

  • Great song! Love the range.

  • Nevermind...

  • Wow! I wore one of those black ruffled tuxedo shirts to my high school graduation. Wonder what happened to it? Hmm....what did my parents do with my black leather jacket? And my jeans with the plaid cuffs? And my platform shoes? And my long collar silk shirts? And my bell bottoms? And my...Oh, right. They donated that stuff.

  • @doc2skate I still miss my Ginny dolls, which my mother sold to the highest bidder at the local consignment store. Barbie, you are no Ginny. Ken, who is flat-chested, is more of a Ginny doll than Barbie.

  • @etbella3 LOL. My sisters had Ginny and Barbie dolls. My brothers and I couldn't touch them under penalty of bodily harm. We thought they were toys that came with story books like "Jack and Jill" and "Little Bo Peep". We were given the "Bonanza" brothers figures. I am the middle brother so of course I got "Hoss" Cartwright.

  • @doc2skate wow I didn't know abt the Bonanza figures. I had Barbie and Tammi dolls

  • I was dating a DJ way back in the 70's and he'd close his show daily with this dedicated to me....always been a bittersweet favourite!

  • #140 best song of the 60s Little Anthony & The Imperials - Going Out Of My Head....one of my all time faves.

  • Isn't it truly how it feels...I remember this when I was a young kid.

  • Great group!!!

  • I love this song so much!!!

  • @helenajesstarzak so do i.... magic

  • an absolute gem

  • this song makes me crazyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hersexyness66 Don Costa, who arranged and conducted the orchestra on this was said to have said after the recording was completed, "Oh, my, Oh my".

  • @Nocaro I can understand that. And if I had been Anthony Gourdine, I might have said, "Oh, my, oh,my" about the orchestra back up and arrangement. It's all so beautiful.

  • This is what made a lot of ladys go CRAZY. Super memory ! Thank You The Cadillac Man!!!!

  • Giant, giant of a song - sung by a classic group of superb musicians - PERFECT!

  • a true classic back in the early 1960's. this is what i would play for that special lady when she comes into my life.
