@allater3 I have pictures of my great grandfather and grandfather racing 1910-1920s Harleys on dirt oval tracks and my grandfather hill climbing on various rigid framed Harleys mostly modified WW2 WLAs LONG before Honda, Suzuki Yamaha Harley was riding in the dirt. And harley XR750s owned the tracks for a long time.
Thats how people get hurt bad when a slow ass obstacle is rolling over jumps and everybody else is jumping them he is bound to get landed on eventually.
ENGINE MODS?!? WHAT IS THAT GUY FUCKING RETARDED?!? HIS HARLEY HAS A MAXIMUM OF ABOUT 3-Inches of Suspension Travel, where as a regular Motocross Bike is like fucking Noting But Suspension Travel...like over 18"+ in front and in Back....
18 inches, you say? No, try 12. And you'd be shocked at what you can do with 3 inches in the back. I've seen videos of the USGP MX races at Carlsbad in the early '70s when 3" was the norm, and then again in the early '80s when 12 was the norm. The speed at which those guys assaulted the track didn't really seem to change. I'm sure it did, if you look at lap times, but it wasn't that big of a deal. So long as you're willing to get your ass off the seat, any short-travel bike can haul ass.
I tried my Sportie offroad once, dropped it many times and one last time in a sand pit and was unable to get it back up by myself. I figured it was much too heavy for scrambling.
Excellent ! Very entertaining. I would really like to see an '80's era bike in the ring with the modern 4Strokes. Something like an '86 HRC Honda Cr250.
that was pretty cool. If that guy had a light weight motocross bike that was made for what he was doing I think he would give the best out there a run for there money.

Why is it that you can only hear the exhaust note from the harley in those shots when you know those dirtbikes are revving higher and have tuned aftermarket pipes. Methinks this clip be a doctored-up promotion for Harley.
If it was, I can't wait to cash the check. Oh, wait...there wasn't one. Chris scores big bonus points for doing that. I know I couldn't have done that.
@jimbrowski007 Actually you can only hear the harley one or two times through the whole thing, you are mistaking the dirt bike sounds for harley sounds.
@jimbrowski007 well dirtbikes have 250-450cc engines in this race....the harley is a 1200 stock. so it should make a little more noise if nothing else
@jimbrowski007 you also got to consider that the harleys motor is alot bigger and has an extro cylinder and he did say it wasnt stock wich means big cams and high revs
Thats pretty sweet brother but Id rather beat up a Honda Shadow because I respect Harley Davidson too much
