Why do you guys waste your time pointing out the specific flaws of this map? There are so many things wrong with it that it doesnt merit you pointing out what detail is historically incorrect.
guys i know its not historically accurate and i know and everyone here knows the Greeks weren't barbarians and other mistakes but he is simply showing us what the program does and what could of happened if history changed if u look at it from this angle u understand(well i do) PS to everybody commenting i know its ur opinion but im just saying to look at it differently
i though the capitol city of today's tunis (cathaga-i don't know how to write it in english) was one of the first to be conquered, much before gaul and area of todays croatia
Good idea but needs serious revision of historical facts, for instance your map never shows the conquest of Egypt which Octvian (or Augustus as he was proclaimed when he became the first Emperor) achieved. Also there seems to be the lack of the short period when the Empires boundaries were static, due to the construction of Hadriens walls across the entire breadth of the frontier (not just in Britain as many believe). There are other mistakes but not altogether wrong, just needs revising
@GuruJudge21 Noone in Europe was barbarians, it is just a historical misunderstanding. Barbarian in latin and greek meant forener. In english and other european languages it means uncivilized.
@GuruJudge21 True. Alexander made the first huge civilized empire, long before the Romans... I'm sorry ''arcturus12'', this simulation isn't quite right :/ But I appreciate that people use their time doing this =)
Armenia has covered many different territories over time with only a small core continuous. Now, that core is in its West, then it was more East. It would help to give dates. Also, barbarians did not so much take West Rome over as get concessions as internal allied tribal 'homelands' because Rome could not fight them or worse than them, and West Rome just fizzled out so they took over. They were Christian Roman supporters except British English. They no longer needed an Emperor than USA a King
@arcturus12 You fail to model the Hellenistic kingdoms properly. You fail to include key small kingdoms in Anatolia and the Levant. Your "barbarians" are not a single people and thus the label is misleading. Thus, characterizing your simulation as "total crap" is justified. Please read some more history before you post this in the guise of an educational aide.
@Saltandvinegar88 Armenia is the triangle of land between the Black, Caspian, and Mediterranean seas on the left side of this map. This simulation does not include Armenia (or many other extant cultural groups at the time) as a distinct entity though in order to cut down on computational complexity and memory requirements.

The greeks and others were barbarians, as they were outside the roman empire. cuz thats what barbaric meant in those days; outside roman culture.

Thanks. But it would be easier to follow if there were some kind of clock that shows what year it is.
