I honestly think I broke a rib or two laughing. Holy shit...nobody comes close to comparing with George Carlin. The closest would be Louis CK, and he'd be the first to admit that he's 1,000 miles away from King George.
@dner75 CK has openly attributed his success to using Carlin's method of writing material - pitch every joke you have at the end of the year and start fresh :)
When I was old enough to question and reason, I discovered Carlin. But he was gone when I did. I wish I was fortunate enough to at least watch this genius live once in this lifetime. He is my hero, my idol and my biggest teacher. I love you Carlin, you old fuck.
Fuck hope. Exactly. The most useless emotion of all whose consequences are always related to tomorrow. Fuck politics and religion combined and great work of GC in the last part of the clip.
For all you mindless idiots that love watching this hater of "white people" take his crap on said race, how do you suppose the moron would answer that there are indeed MANY Caucasians that have very good reasons for being blue about all the violence and hatred that's been leveled at them as a result of the turd carlin (and other turds like him) stirring up hate against Caucasians?
Did Kris Kime deserve to be murdered for saving a Caucasian girl from a mob of wild blacks that were killing her?!!
Let's face it; the guy was a turd. He saw the ever-expanding "whitey-is-to-blame-for-every- rotten-thing-in-the-world" movement going on and he rode it like an expert surfer all the way to the bank!
Never had a word of hate toward any group in this world other than the "white" race!
Oh how the lib loved hearing the applause when he'd take a shit on Caucasians, and he seemed so brave in how he'd use extreme profanity to drive it home. He made millions of $ with his evil BS but now his soul is..
Prof. Carlin, I've been a devout student of your for years, but with regards to the first 15 seconds of this clip, and on behalf of Stevie Ray Vaughan (and this breaks my heart to say this), "Fuck you."
@chriskoob Maybe, but he was damn good at it... Regardless of his influences, SRV was a phenomenal musician and he never hid the fact that Hendrix was one of his largest inspirations. You have to respect that. As an ideological statement (re: white people blues), I'll tip my hat to Carlin, but in actuality, he's wrong. Album sales speak for themselves.
@JovianAU ok, if we're going by what sales, the biggest selling blues album is The Blues Brothers, please dont tell me you think jake and ellwood, while entertaining as they were, can compare with muddy waters, howling wolf, buddy guy and bb king. and to be clear, im not even saying stevie ray isnt talented, but his style is in some cases almost note for note a direct copy of hendrix yet people will act like he was the greatest thing ever,
@chriskoob I had no idea that the Blues Brothers sold enough albums to be the "best-selling", and No, they cannot compare. I only meant to point out that white people can indeed play the blues. That being said, I concede that your argument is better than my own.
@r70stunna that guy wants to basically shut down public universities, which equals no....just no, which equals the educational level of the USA will basically turn to no better than developing countries, rather than developed.
@Raladras38957 Have you looked at how the US ranks in education worldwide lately. Last I checked we were 23rd and dropping every year. So how can it get any worse?
@r70stunna by effectively shutting down public universities and schools due to lack of funding, thereby effectively halting the mass population of the us from becoming educated. Now I will say that I haven't looked up exactly what he wants to put in place of the DoEd, but you can't just eradicate an entire department and then expect the states to fix it without fucking things up. Besides that, congress has to approve it. We all know how good those fucktards are at messing things up. Example:SOPA
@r70stunna And, assuming the current educational level is due to high school dropouts and the like: that's the kids' parents' fault, NOT the government. Well, in some cases the government, but from what i've seen, and george carlin would agree if he were here, fucked up parents usually = fucked up children = decline in us overall educational level. Government can't fix the fucked up parents.
@Raladras38957 You make some great points. However, out of all the possible candidates for President, I still beleive Dr. Paul is the best for the future of America. His fundamental ideas will stop the corrupt money grab that has taken over our nation's capitol. He will also restore individual freedoms, and make the Bill of Rights relevent again.
Meh, the voting rant is illogical. If I vote for someone who loses, I've every right to complain. It's only in the case that I vote for the winner who turns out to be an idiot that I have no right to complain. If you don't vote and someone idiotic wins, and it's possible that someone else who isn't idiotic could have won if all of the defeatists voted, you don't have much of a right to complain, though it's true that there's only a very small amount of non-idioitic people who you could vote for.
@axcertypo not exactly. If you vote you agree to the concept and workings of the voting sistem. Which is simple: i will express my opinion but will bow down to the majority decision. So ya... you don't have the right to complain. Carlin advocates that the whole voting system is stupid from the start. He doesn't finish the argument for the sake of comedic purposes, but the point is the voting system is dumb: for god's sake you get the right to vote because you survived for 18 years.
@TheMajinTrunks The two-party system in the USA sucks, yes, but there are always other parties. For sure there is someone you could vote for who is worth voting for. So you, I agree with the voting system, though I have the right to complain about the stupidity of other voters.
you don't. again you're missing the whole point. You base your argument on your choice being valid.. or at least being a valid choice. There might be. But that's not the point. The point is the system says: express your opinion and bow down to the majority. That system... is BULLSHIT. yes there might be a right choice through that system, but not the point. As long as you agree with the notion that everyone - no matter how stupid - can have weight in a decision, you can't complain.
@axcertypo put it this way: would you let a farmer, preform brainsurgery on you? no. Why? cos he is illinformed, illprepared and basically BAD at doing that. So why give random people the capability to influence the way society is running? Cos they survived for 18 years? That's bullshit. If a choice on HOW the stuff should be run is made, or who should do it, it must be done by people with adequate qualifications. Not hey... Picture all the people that watch Jerry Springer. THEY VOTE!
@axcertypo I have heard arguments like this: "i'm voting for X because i've always voted with that party". This might suprise you but LOTS of people do this. And you can't but stand in awe on the stupidity of voting like that. The "right" to vote, given to everyone for leeching of their parents for 18 years and not getting hit by a car in the meantime, is beyond absurd. The "majority" is most of the time, WRONG. Historical fact. HOW can you have a sistem that lets that majority of sheep decide.
@TheMajinTrunks Amd all the "smart people" that don't vote are just fucking things up even more. It's not your choice to say who gets to vote. That's fascism. The point is laying back and just watching things fuck up doesn't give you the right to complain, because you're the problem. If all of the "smart" people didn't vote, you'd be stuck with the votes of the STUPID people. I complain about people NOT voting because it just fucks things up even more. Think about it.
@TheMajinTrunks Help people make the right voting decision instead of making them think they're doing the OK thing by voting for popular and rich candidates. The world is changing, don't just sit there and watch.
Every time I think Carlin, there is one comment I remember from him, its from "Complaints and Grievances" I think. He says that life is not complicated, that all you have to do is wake up every morning, go to work, eat three meals a day, take a good shit and go back to sleep. To me, that is his greatest moment cause that line alone can save you from all the bullshit George was so grievous about. PS I love this compilation!!!
thankfully that drunken drug abuser that wanted to be "comedian" is now dead...I havent seen more collected bullshit in a show in my life...you must be mentaly retard to agree with what tha shithead is saying...
This guy is my hero, even though I don't agree with that "not voting" thing. Jou just got to make your vote count by voting with intelligence and an opinion of your own, not something you've seen on tv. Voting small parties that have good policies and end with the fucking bipartidism. At least in my country that makes a difference because of our election system and the way the parliament works, it's true that maybe in America that wouldn't work
@dav1davo i think what he means when he refers to white people is the anglo-saxons in america...armenian people have white skin too, not all people of the same race have the same ammount of pigment in their skin so some could be say normal white, and some can be pale white, while others appear to have a light natural tan
anyways, main point being, he's basically referring to anyone who isn't currently classified by the government as a "minority"
@dav1davo well the Americans cant tell the difference. cause all they see on TV is fixrd bullshit. and cause it's in the same neighbourhood of the brown people
@karderr hey little piece of shit. I was talking about the race ( as an example when Americans bombed white people ). Not weather it was right or wrong.
What a talent, Carlin was such a clever artist - a master of comic timing, full of urban insightfulness & powered by genuine anger. We really need someone like him right now. The left lost its balls when he died.
I just with he hadn't said "the public". Because "the public" doesn't suck. "The corporations" suck. The corporations are what make "the public" what "they are". George Carlin speaks the truth on so many levels, but I am young enough to see that deep, deep, deeeeeeep brainwashing. They may have won for now, but things are changing.
I think the only one really missing from this list is the American Dream. That was where he told the most truth of anything he said I think. Thanks for putting this together though in any case, lot of good stuff.
hmm i get the idea why he didnt vote but on the other hand if no1 vote what so ever we would go back to informal leaders, kings and people that tells you what you can and cant do. and yeah democracy isnt perfect but man isnt perfect either so if you dont want any of the politicans to run the country vote blank or run for candidate your self.
"American prays to god to destroy our enemies, our enemies pray to god to destroy us, SOMEBODY GONNA BE DISAPPOINTED, SOMEBODY WASTING THEIR FUCKIN' TIME!"
LoL, George Carlin nailed that on top of the head, so true.
@QweeDam I watched your video's and there a solid no bullshit thread. So many thanks, i downloaded them as a peice a cake i can shove down my friends fanny-pack till the cherry finally drops out of there sleeping voting selves. Your obviously a person on Beta-Blockers so again Thanks.
@mas6o0ol100 Haha definitely not. Sometimes he humors the idea of religion for the purpose of a joke but to my knowledge he died a full fledged atheist.
@QweeDam if there is a God , he has noting to do with religion anyways .. And I believe there is at least some kind of divine cosmic principle , just because some average scientists can't even begin to understand the complexity of such entity/principle ... I listened to some interviews of him and he didn't say there is not a God , he only stated his belief system . But in comedy..all depends on the exageretion , as he said ..anyways we lost a great man who could easily pumped another specials :D
@QweeDam Actualy, it's not that he didn't belive in god. He had a much more sophisticated idea of what "God" is. To quote him "Your insctinct and conscience are your only god". He was more of an agnostic in my oppinion.
@mas6o0ol100 He did when he was young because his parents were catholic so they brought him to church. As he grew up he stopped believing in God because of some of the reasons he explains in his comedy. He now "worship the sun because we can see the sun." and he prays to George Petchey.
@mas6o0ol100 He believed that there was SOMETHING after you died. He just didnt believe in anything resembling the classical interpretation of GOD. He called what he believed in "THE BIG ELECTRON"
@mas6o0ol100 I think he MAY have believed in God (I have heard him quote Proverbs in a few shows), but he did differentiate between religion and the actual relationship with God. Religion is a practice; Christianity is the BELIEF...
@DeadSleepers when he was young, if youll see more of his standups and his documentary, youd know he also said "i was a catholic untill i reached the age of reason", and "i stoped believeing in god in my teens" and such
WOW!!! a top moments list of his stand up and you didnt even mention the "7 dirty words". its his most famous material, its what hes known for. im gonna pray to joe pesci so he can beat your ass!! Joe Bless You
lol, Libya has brown people and we just bombed them...I would say George was psychic, but I know as soon as I say it, he'll come back and punch me in the face along with the religious people.
@QweeDam hey. although yes i too would have like to see the 7 words included. I would like to say thank you for putting this out there. it made me smile on a very bad day. thank you
@95Ingy No, its not. Its somehow funny but not that funny the second time. Hes best stuff came much later. And writing with capitals its like yelling in a live conversation. Shows that your opinion is not much appreciated. I wonder why...
@Kingdom007Hearts What about "Saving the Planet", "The American Dream" or "Seven Words You Can't Say On Television"? All of his material was funny but I can't post all of it or else this would turn into a George Carlin discography. Besides, this list is my opinion and not necessarily his funniest moments, but the most memorable
I like you're list but there is definitely a lot missing. Probably because Carlin's "greatest hits" is pretty much everything BUT "the 7 dirty words" changed the U.S legal system.... I would vouch as "memorable".
@regaladol10 I agree that was definitely worth of his top 20 moments, but that segment is nearly 20 minutes long. I have considered uploading just that piece and labeling it his most memorable moment but there's already 500 uploads of it on YouTube. As far as a collaboration of someone's best moments goes, a 20 minute segment wouldn't fit with a bunch of 2 min ones.
@QweeDam well, what about that losing stuff bit? or for that matter, any sketch of his Playing with your head special? I understand it's your opinion but those are just some of the best!
There are that many flavors of rice a roni? Wow...

I'm confused ... did he believe in god or not ?
mas6o0ol100 6 months ago
@mas6o0ol100 Haha definitely not. Sometimes he humors the idea of religion for the purpose of a joke but to my knowledge he died a full fledged atheist.
QweeDam 6 months ago 76
@QweeDam Also he said he's not an atheist because atheism is a belief itself... He calls himself, a sun worshiper

first of all ahtiesm is not a belive,
it means you don't belive the claim that there is a god.
not the belive that is not a god.
if you worship the sun, and don't belive in god, you are still an atheist
ShooterCinema 5 days ago
@QweeDam if there is a God , he has noting to do with religion anyways .. And I believe there is at least some kind of divine cosmic principle , just because some average scientists can't even begin to understand the complexity of such entity/principle ... I listened to some interviews of him and he didn't say there is not a God , he only stated his belief system . But in comedy..all depends on the exageretion , as he said ..anyways we lost a great man who could easily pumped another specials :D
ugandaplayer 4 months ago
@QweeDam Actualy, it's not that he didn't belive in god. He had a much more sophisticated idea of what "God" is. To quote him "Your insctinct and conscience are your only god". He was more of an agnostic in my oppinion.
Prka01 2 months ago
@mas6o0ol100 He did when he was young because his parents were catholic so they brought him to church. As he grew up he stopped believing in God because of some of the reasons he explains in his comedy. He now "worship the sun because we can see the sun." and he prays to George Petchey.

@mas6o0ol100 I think he MAY have believed in God (I have heard him quote Proverbs in a few shows), but he did differentiate between religion and the actual relationship with God. Religion is a practice; Christianity is the BELIEF...

@QweeDam i didnt pick those b/c someone in the comment section said it already. yeah i understand that u cant post everything.

I like you're list but there is definitely a lot missing. Probably because Carlin's "greatest hits" is pretty much everything BUT "the 7 dirty words" changed the U.S legal system.... I would vouch as "memorable".

regaladol10 1 year ago
@regaladol10 I agree that was definitely worth of his top 20 moments, but that segment is nearly 20 minutes long. I have considered uploading just that piece and labeling it his most memorable moment but there's already 500 uploads of it on YouTube. As far as a collaboration of someone's best moments goes, a 20 minute segment wouldn't fit with a bunch of 2 min ones.
