@zatona60 Back in the day all Dancers were lady like and feminine. This dance is a woman's dance and is the image of modesty. Today that is not the case, things have changed, In my humble opinion, for the worst. See Tahia Carioca to see the epitome of feminine and modesty. Good question BTW.
@baadrobot yeah i know... old is gold... back in those old days a dancer is not a B****** like now!! totally different culture than we have these days!! and the prove that most of the old belly dancers was married to a very respectable people such as politicians and doctors!! now it sucks!!
@zatona60 I know that here in America the dancers have adopted Burlesque and Pole Dancing as a part of their dancing vocabulary. I think this is a very wrong thing to do and am very upset by this. It is disgraceful and offensive to me. I also find it very sad that things have fallen so low in this dance. Its just too bad and in some ways I am thankful that I can no longer participate. Where are you? Egypt? or? Thanks, Andrea
@vesiana will need to do research into the name of particular song that is used here. A balady is an improv on a theme so the song would be the theme. will look in my archives for information. Please be patient, could take time, this was a live performance and the song itself was not featured, only the singer and the dancer was featured if that makes any sense.
This is not the whole thing. I realised that after I put it up. The full version can be found on a video called "egytian Nights". I bought it in 2001 so someone still has it. I still need to convert the other one.
wow baadrobot so far i knew only the "bint el soltan" part thanks so much for puttin it up!! would be GREEAT if you could post more ;) thanks so much anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!
