@gammypage Bullcrap. If you don't have to worry about your hand touching it you can WRITE. On a normal touchscreen you can't cause the edge of your hand touches too. This is great because he can take just the stylus and touch it.

this isn't "first". some asian guy developed the first program to utilize the wii mote as an IR detector for a computer, and is also the first to develop anything that fully utilized it to any good potential. any person can make what you did there (actually i've already had something like this for two years now). tho i do have to say, your calibration precision and the accuracy of IR light capture is REALLY good. its actually the most accurate i've ever scene. what software you using?

can you help me out? I have a mac, installed the wiiremote software of uwe schmidt; installed the preferences.

I can calibrate the four points with my ir ledpen.

And after that I cannot use the irledpen as a mouse, and I get no pen to draw with.

I tried it with a bemer + wiiremote and on my laptopscreen.

@MrBendnorman You can flip the projected Picture. Linux can do this by default, Windows and OS X might require an tool to do that. Also many better projectors have an option for that.

why are you wondering if he can get a I,R lazer and use that from far away when you can actually have that distance, its the same distance as most people put there sensor bar from their sofa, as long as hes using a wiimote camera that faces forward, as aposed to the johnny lee white board technique, considering you actually want far away no touch and you can put the mote on top of the glass display (muchos cool btw), or build it in!

2) The reason I ask is because if you project from the rear, your image will be inverted, unless he has some sort of mirror that he's bouncing the image off of, which he doesn't mention in the description.

Sorry for my misunderstanding...you are right, the image will be inverted...there must be mirrors or a software of the beamer or the pc that invert the image that it is right again on the screen

So in this case the description is useless...sorry!

you should make a glove with contacts on the index finger, and thumb, so that when they touch together they light up an IR LED on your finger.

it would give the feel of dragging windows around, without some sort of pen.

I have been experimenting with that idea and it was a dead end. turns out lasers dont work very well for this and IR lasers are pretty pricey. i have however come up with a better solution using IR leds which i will be posting soon. just trying to make it pretty now. feel free to subscribe to our channel and you will be one of the first to see the update =)
