Hollytbo, I love your posts. I was hired from Eastern by Delta in August of 1988 as a flight attendant. I was the first class of F/A's hired that had come from union airlines such at TWA, Continental and Eastern. You are absolutely right, it was the best job I ever had, and now 14 years after I left, I miss it terribly. My wife was a flight attendant also, and when our son was born, I didn't want to be an absentee dad. God Bless Delta of old, Hollis and his crew, before 7.5 and Ron Allen.

This was the Delta of many years ago. It really WAS JUST LIKE THIS COMMERCIAL. It will never be the same..as things never are. Our world is changing..values, work ethic and the morality of what real human customer service was...Delta is now flashy, metrosexual and Hollywood. Mirrors the values of our culture though...sad but the way things have gone. Hurts my heart. Grateful for the memories though of DELTA AIRLINES.

@Hollytbo You are so correct! Everything has changed and not for the better. Delta is clumped together with Southwest, Jetblue and all the others now. Delta and the industry will never be the same!!!

DO NOT FLY Delta. On the fnal leg of our trip from Detroit to Dayton Oh. We were suppose to board at 7PM we boarded at 11:30 pm sat on run way for over three hours So long we had to refuel. then the cancell NEXT flight was two days later. Tues, Reps from Delta were SOOO rude So to hell with getting back to children and going to work, Mon. at 7 AM we had to rent car drive to dayton another 200 dollars HELL we get home and they call us to tell us that flight was cancelled. DONT FLY DELTA

Thanks for posting, this is when Delta WAS Delta.. and not the cheap lame crap they are today. Loved the jingle, I remember singing it when I was 6!!!
