Astoundingly, for most of history America's nickname for Pit Bulls was 'The Nanny Dog.' For generations if you had children and wanted to keep them safe you wanted a pit bull, the dog that was the most reliable of any breed with children or adults. People have done wrong by this breed and so many others. My daughter Melly had a Rott called Tequila he was the best nanny dog ever. He was the best dog we ever had at 130lbs he was huge and a teddy bear.
