  • Great video!!!!

  • A Real Beauty - Pontiac power !!!! .

  • Sweet, just two nitpicks I see: 1. The ride height is about 1.5" too high all around and 2. It needs an alignment, the steering wheel isn't centered.

  • @Cash2112 You would have to be an idiot to lower that car.

  • @TheHumangous You would have to be a toothless white trash mouth breather to drive a jacked up Trans Am.

  • Love it! Great video! I own a 68' 400 bird and your hood tach install video is really going to be helpful in my future install- again, thank you for posting all the great videos!!

  • can anyone tell me what these 455 HO Trans Ams top out at? I know my 79 TA did around 135? Im not quite sure cause the MPH gauge only went to 100...for reasons I have no idea!!! I just know I about wrapped it around to 0 again!!! LOL!!!

  • @coreylane100 Depends on the rear axle ratio. A friend of mine had a '76 TA with a 400/auto and a 2.41 rear gear and we could get the speedo to wrap back past 20 mph! Only God knows how fast we were really going. . .

  • Work of art What an amazing dream car I'm going to dream about at night

  • come on numbers hit!!!!!!!

  • beautiful car...but no such thing as too fast

  • extremely sweet, you are very blessed to own such an awesome musclecar.

  • 20 yrs ago i missed a 72 trans am for 500 bucks! i had a 72 formula 400 which was a dam fine car. sold it in the 70`s when gas went to 75-1.00 a gallon.

  • Very beautiful car! How many miles are on it? Is it stock?

  • big `10-4 that was the car camaros hated cuz this car would win ,,,, nice car texas guy from canada

  • what a bute... but I didnt see the 8-track. Got to drive a buddy's 70 Formula 4-speed ... It was no problem gettin her to 170... I was dumb I know but wgat the heck ...I was 18

  • @Red1Six 170 kilometers never miles: lack of gearing.

  • I like the shape of the Trans-Am but I've driven quite a few and the kindest thing I can say about them is that the average British van is faster and handles better. America made the same mistake with these cars that Britain made with the MG's, they just didn't evolve the cars. The Porsche 911 wasn't great when it first appeared but they evolved it constantly until it was. Trans-Am is iconic without doubt but as a car it is nonsense. I'm afraid average Jap cars blow everything else away.

  • I have had three 2nd Gen T/A'a (2 1White 971's and a Blue 73 ). The 71's were fresh, big bad ass 455HO's with Pontiac Performance Cams, headers and 4spd's that would just fly. I think I paid like 2300 and 2900$ for each of the 71's.I also had a 74 SD455, and I am convinced my 71's were WAY faster. Looking for a nice one again now..guess I'll have to pay a bit more these days..!

  • I had a Lucerne Blue twin to this car...

  • Why would you want to drive a Mitsu what ever? I'd rather push a classic muscle car then be seen in an import.

  • Man I hate tuners and their fucking Jap garbage. Comparing this classic to that trash should be a crime punished by being dragged behind the Jap shit you admire. In 10 years all your precious mitsubitches will be tin cans ( not much different really). This car is pushing 40 and still an amazing machine.

  • sick.

  • 2 people were run over by 1972 trans ams.

  • A Mitsubishi EVO 2 liter 4 cylinder would blow the doors off this car.

  • @mynameisntowens okay... its also gay too

  • @MrBrey1 At least it isn't made in America i.e. utter shit that falls apart in one week with cheap non fitting plastic parts, door gaps and hood gaps that are uneven, a joke naugahyde interior, and a disco dashboard. Hang on to the past, I'll see you in my rear view mirror in the future. BTW. Trans Am's are the ultimate cars for guys who suffer from abbreviated penis syndrome. i'll stick with an EVO or an S5 or a plethora of other modern cars that annihilate these dinosaurs.

  • @mynameisntowens man that car is the most bad ass car you could DREAM of owning , your just getting all pissed cause this trans am is rubbing its nuts all in your little evos face .. i got to give it to you the now days amarican cars are shit but these old ones were built to last , these things run on gas unlike how your evo runs on rice oil . this car was made for men

  • @MrBrey1 I'm not a kid,I know from age and experience. If you put both cars on any track (I'll use Silverstone in England for example because I'm British) the EVO would lap the Trans Am within 3 laps. This is fact, indisputable fact. I don't dream about these old cars because I have owned them. In 1971 I bought a brand new Mustang Mach 1 351c which I brought here. They were fine in their day but by today's standards they are heavy pigs that have torque and that's about all.BTW, I drive a 2009 M5

  • @mynameisntowens

The old stuff cant hold a candle to anything new in terms of handling, but they have huge amounts of power and are unique, if someone says an old car will destroy a new car on a road course they may be crazy, on a dragstrip though the old car may win. Both the new and the old cars are amazing and each have their place. I have heard the older corvettes really have some amazing handling but I cant say that for sure as I've never driven one unfortunately.

  • @mynameisntowens clearly you don't understand the point of muscle cars, its straight line speed and the feel of having something larger than a weedwacker engine under the hood, have fun looking super gay in a rice rocket and let real car guys stick to driving real cars.

  • @mynameisntowens and you would look like a douchebag driving the mistubishi

  • @mynameisntowens Yeah but you look like a fag while doing it.

  • SOLID WOOD DUDE!

  • MyRod.com....... Win

  • Got a 1975 with the 455 HO myself and you're absolutely right. 500 ft/lb of torque? My god...

  • Finally someone doing a REAL burnout, not the lame crap with the line-locks......Beautiful!

  • Now that's a TRANS AM!!!!!

  • Just finished rebuilding a 455 H.O motor for my 1972 pontiac firebird 4-speed. your right, there is no greater power than that of a pontiac 455!

  • @AndersonRacing44 Ilove the 455h,o but power wise ill take my 2007 z06

  • @camirocz I would take an 07 z06 over alot of cars. :)

  • @russnord Yes but i d still love to get an h.o one day with those two cars, my collection will feel complete.I am half way there at least ...lol

  • @camirocz personally if I could have a yenko 69 camaro SS with the zl1 engine I would be complete. :)

  • I owned this exact car! Same color combo and same drive train, including the 4 spd. I sold it a while back, and I have regreted it ever since. All I have now is a pic of it.

  • its easy to drive manuals man, just listen to the engine.

  • my dad owned the exact same car but he just had to sell it but i wish he didnt!

  • bought the same car 36k orig miles put new ta radials on car let my ex wife drive it to work once never saw it again!!! Little did I know at the time there was a 2 million dollar theft ring in my town at the time . Went out and bought a 350 cutlass for her they stole that to still have the title for the ta

  • way too fast is like having too much money?????

  • know that feeling you get when you hit the lottery for 11 mill?? i just got that from this car..... i pooped myself

  • why is the steering wheel sideways? u need a anlinement

  • LOL! I love it, i was pretty speechless at the end of the video, i love how you're all "it can be driven normall, oorrr..." and then you heard that engine get all kinds of pissed off and you're just gooone, hahaha, amazing, this car definatly holds my #1 favorite car tied ONLY with the 71' Hemi Cuda

  • @Ratmouth66 It's tied for #1 with the 1970 chevelle SS 454 in my book.

  • Ahh yeah my friend has a 72' 454 Chevelle, its amazing, that thing was so loud it would shake my car when i drove by xD

  • @psychoclown420 i agree 100 per cent

  • mmmmmmm i wana make luv to my ho

  • Waaay too fast for a geek wearing shorts and sandles. . . By the way, the ride height needs to be lowered at least 1.5".

  • I JUST WANT IT FOR IT'S ENGINE LOL !
