@Gundam00Raiser75 I probably should not reply to this because of how poor your English was, as well as the age of this comment being a year old; But, I will anyway because of the sole fact that your comment was directed towards me. You can build something BETTER than an Alienware Desktop for $800 OR LESS. Once you know, You Newegg.

There is no way in hell that an $800 PC is going to outperform an Alienware computer. I see no videos on your channel showing any proof of that. You're just making it up so that you can get more channel views, aren't you. FUCK OFF!
Obviously you don't know computers. I Have been building PC's since before Alienware existed. Alienware is an over-hyped custom PC that used to use ASUS Motherboards. Something you can buy off the shelf. All Alienware does is overclock slightly everything and fine tune shit. Something any avid PC building specialist can do with $800. Were talking desktop's here. An Alienware laptop on the otherhand is quite a feat ;)
@xanZion1 That's not necessarily true. You can build an Alienware laptop pc cheaper than what they sell as well, there's nothing that special about them, it's just a huge hassle to find all the parts usually.
true the human eye does have great difficulty with noticing 20, anyway strange your comment got marked as spam, and watching videos would be kinda crap on it too.:)
Yeah and If your using this for lets say gaming, your computer has a 'ping' of about 12ms processing time so anything under that isn't going to matter anyway, especially running at 60hz..
It was only marked as spam because it was an Alienware product, which is a religion to some people.
And yeah you would only be able to watch videos in the field of view, which I imagine is very bad.
The seamless display is created with 3 DLP images sources (left, middle, right).
The images overlap and normally this would create bright spots, but software is used to dim the spots so they are the same brightness. Unfortunately since brightness depends on angle, you get certain parts where the brightness differs per view (the slices you see).
It shows up on camera _alot_ more than in person, just like taking a picture of an LCD screen shows dark edges but you hardly see them with your eyes.
Maybe good for gaming but imagine dragging your mouse all the way across that screen?
Plus it looks dodgey cause most FPS' main characters are sort of at the side of the screen aiming towards the centre and at 1:11 it just looks like the character is aiming directly sideways.
you could just tear apart your lcd screens and make your own "box" for them out of some thin aluminum and acrylic so there are no bezles...but there would prolly still be an annoying line int he middle to save money... but i still just creamed my pants a little. :-p

The 3 vertical lines on the display where the 4 panels connect would probably be annoying. I mean, it's better than having dual monitors with the monitor bezel being in the way but a monitor like this won't be worth purchasing until they figure out how to smooth out those hard transitions between the panels.
Look at 00:57, where he's in the race car. Look at just to the right of the players arm in game.
The dash is two separate shades of gray there, because that's where the panels come together. The curved screen IS made of 4 distinct panels. Just look at the brightness difference between the panels.
Look again at 1:10 when they're playing Crysis. You can count the 4 separate panels by the 4 horizontal lines. They're NOT seamless. Honestly, no bullshit. :)

0.2 response time? What's the point in that there is no real advantage than over one with 5ms.

Vicinalace 3 years ago
"2880 is overkill! total overkill!"
Once upon a time when the norm was 640 by 480. 800 by 600 was considered overkill. And a lot of games at the time only used 320 by 240 on PCs.
The more pixels one has, the more realistic things become.

Oh yeah, I see. If you closely you can notice the screen is split up by 4 panels. You can tell by the slight colour & light change between them.

this is a protoype, alienware and nec probably will make it beter so u cant see the 4 panels.
