  • very catchy i listened to this once and now i keep humming it

  • This song really works well in Inland Empire.

  • It's the moment when Nikki is wounded and dying on Hollywood streets. A video response from IE would be a good thing

  • yeah!! totally...

i think was the only part i actually enjoyed... the movie i didnt like so much; probably most because i didnt get it.. but that part i did enjoyed, the only "fun" part, without scary and disturbing images..

    excuse my english

  • awesome song and video.

    beck rocks.

i dont like that he is scientologist tho.

    that sucks.

  • Read his quote about it on Wikipedia, It might make you feel better about it.

  • I don't understand why you think criticize him by his religion? He's a musician, criticize him by his music.

  • I just thumbed you up. From the scant info I have on, from the bits that i see of Scientology, I totally agree. But still in wanting to learn I'd like to why it sucks as much as it does. ????????, thanks

  • much different than I would have expected the video for this song to be! very cool though!

  • best music video ever

  • E-pro?.... nope lol Hot dang I freakin Love beck's music... He's just a flat out amazing composer

  • Thanks for sharing this great video!

  • I really hope they didn't make this video in Microsoft's Word...would have been years in the making of that 3 min video.

  • lulzzzz

  • They probably did. But they probably had many pros doing it at the same time.

  • lol

  • They didn't.. some software turn images into ASCI chars, so... its just a question of turning each frame into ASCI encoding.. Ez pie.

  • Beck is cool what the heck is 2:09 though lol a cricket?

  • Grasshopper.

  • Love the guitar bridge at 1:39

  • Beck really know how to make good jamming and groovy music

  • Can someone explain to me how it's possible for one person to be so frickin' amazing? It's not even fair.

  • BLACK TAMBOURINE!

  • this is so awesome.

  • Another fabulous Beck song. Enjoyable throughout.

  • This great song is on lumines 2, it's a PSP puzzle game.

  • Yeah, that got me into Beck, too. Nice to actually be able to watch the video without being terrified of falling, checkered blocks though.

  • yeah just remembered lumines 2 for some reason. then searched this up.

  • Beck makes me wanna dance. This song is bomb and so is Guero.

  • i had a pwoject like this back in elementary.

a "make a portrate with a type writer" project.

  • I remember when I was a little kid and this song came on Cartoon Networks toonami after Dragon Ball Z, this song really got me into beck and rock XD if it weren't for this I'd still be listening to rap (which I hate with a passion now except for some songs)

  • Yeah dude I remember seeing this when Toonami was still cool.

  • I have always loved his music.

He always has some good vids.

    This one is no exception.

I remember those pictures you could get when I was a kid, and the pixels of the picture where made of all the different characters on a printer. The old school printers with the ball on them. A slow rusty old computer would analyze your pic, and make a very complicated yet intrinsic photo of you. This is just a moving version of it. Brilliant.

The remix of guerolito is even tighter!!!!!!

  • The compression craps this up. I wish someone would repost this now that Youtube can do HD.

  • can't anyone post blackhole off mellowgold

  • Ah, Beck. One of the only Scientologists I truly, actually respect. He's such a brilliant musician, I can actually separate him from the narrow-minded bigots that make up his religion.

  • i saw this while playing Lumines 2 and loved it.

  • same here lol

  • I first saw this on Cartoonetwork's Toonami! (Back when the robot had the white body parts)

    It was featured or something.

  • i kinda remember that actually. I knew i had heard this song before

  • It's funny. That was the first time I saw it, and the first time I had ever heard a Beck song. I had absolutely no idea who he was, and I thought this song was sort of pointless and weird.

Now I'm a big fan of his work, and... well, I still think this song is kind of pointless and weird. But I dig it.

  • I don't say this to every song but this is GROOVY!

  • yay for ASCII art!

  • nahaha this is such a cool video.

  • this song plays during the most climatic part of the film INLAND EMPIRE by David Lynch.

I love this song bc of it.

  • you're probably right. actually, since i saw the film at the cinema, i didn't see it again. so it's hard for me to find the song i heard when some prostitutes are walking on the street (at the middle end of the film). was it that song?

  • yes it was. It is the part when she see's herself running through hollywood and all the hookers are laughing and tryinhg to make a collect call.

  • ok, that's it then! quite strange 'cause i really enjoyed the song when i listened it in the film, but out of its context it sounds less "magical". anyway, thanks a lot for your precisions!

  • hmmm this gonna be in lumines 2 i have to say im looking forward to it

  • Yay!

  • It's one of the best skins in Lumines 2

  • yes yes indeed it is

  • Just that the blocks are kinda difficult and annoying but it's still a great skin

  • Not his best video, but even his worst videos are better than just about everything that's out there today.

  • thats a lie and you know it

  • is it?
