I have one question, in scoring a road. Let's say you place a "T" road piece. The red player ends one road with the "T" and then ends a second road with the other road of the "T". Do you count that tile once or twice for each completed road? Thanks. Hope that makes sense.
one thing that I'm wondering about that you didn't go through; how does it work if you want to place a second farmer on a field that you already control ? do you still need to merge that farmer in from a separate field, or can you just place it on your field without merging ?
me and my friends really couldn't get along on what was legal to do or not, personally I think you have to merge either way, because it would be too easy to control one huge field and win if that was the case..
Great 2 part video! One of the easiest tutorial on Carcassonne I've seen. Me and my wife watch them before playing for the first time and was playing before we knew. Are you making any more videos for the expansions? Have the Big Box and haven't tried Abbey & Mayor or Bridges, Castles & Bazaars yet. Thanks!!
@Tiwoit The T-road tile consists of three separate road segments, and the thief can only occupy one. The little clump of trees is an end point for the three roads.
Very user friendly tutorial. I want to thank you for taking the time to do this even though I have played the game before. Very informative and you make it easy.
Cool game! i have already bought the 5 in 1 package in China. will also order classic C and Wheel of fortune :) Great video by the way... When friends come over my place and I have to explain them the game rules... I just show them your video. We all appreciate the making of this video and your efforts. Thanks
Out of all the tutorials I have seen on Carcassonne, yours is probably the best one in terms of presentation and execution. It's clean, straight forward, non-flashy, and easy to comprehend. If you have any of the expansions and ever consider doing them I'd definately watch though I'd recommend the same presentation format as this: black background, overhead view and a pen for a pointer tool. Again, nicely done!
@h3rshel Follow up: Found this game at a coffee shop and introduced friend to it. These videos helped me explain Carcassonne clearly and made for interesting gameplay! Thanks again!
A very good tutorial. it was really great. I'm from Germany and my English is not so good. but I have understood anyway. and it helped me a lot. thanks for the video. friendly greetings
@QWERTYthebold In your example you only get points for one farmer. Additional farmers are only needed when competing for possession of the farm. If you have two separate farms next to a completed city--and no threat from another player's farmer--it would be in your interest to keep them separate; each separate farm would then get their own points.

@bsflynn The "T" tile is counted multiple times, once for each road it helped complete.

You did an awesome job explaining this "simple" boardgame that I was struggling to understand -- especially the scoring. I owe you a beer!

@mrtopaz You are correct. You cannot place a follower on a claimed feature, even one you claimed yourself. Merging is the way to go.

Hello friend, great tutorial :D Just wondering, lets say I put a thief on the "T road" brick, do i controll all roads leading away from this brick?
Thanks in advance / Tiwoit
