the reason its taking so long is its a new game its not a sequal as far as the game engine goes. the original game engine is owned by bis and is upgraded into arma 1 and 2. OFP 2 is something totally new. only problem is that its gonne be more arcade style like call of duty and not true to realism and simulation that arma 2 will give you. I will still play it but its not big deal to me like arma 2

Well OFP 1 was created by BIS, published by codemasters, after they split, bis created Arma 1 and now is created ARma 2, Arma 2 is actually supposed to be the sequal to OFP 1 it supposed to be OFP2. Codemasters is comign out with OFP2 by name but it wasn't created by BIS so ideally its not OFP2 just another game with OFP2 name.

True, Behomia did leave Flashpoint 2. for Arma Series. But codemaster is STILL running Ofp 2. and altho the developers went seperate ways.

the 2 games are simply look alikes done by 2 developers gone seperate afther ofp1. Ofp2 will be allot similar to ofp 1. even more similar than arma is. better yet. OFP2 goes CONGO. i have been following this shit for years now. and all we got are these arma series in between..but Arma was NEVER intended to be the follow up of flashpoint. just side series.

BIS was a developer. Codemasters was a publisher (a dealer,seller). they did not develop OFP1, they just put their money into it.

today's CM-developers of dragon rising have nothing to do with the original ofp. they just own the trademark and use it to increase sales of THEIR OWN product.

Thats why arma is the sequel to ofp.

OFP2 is being made by different developers than the ones that created OFP1. They claim to keep in tune with the original game but OFP2 is starting to look more like an arcade shooter COD4 or BF2 rather than a military sim game like Armed Assault 2.

Armed Assault 2 is being made by the original creators of OFP1 and is the real sequel.

OFP is amazing but ArmA does have some nice refinements and alot of servers. Although I play ArmA most of the time I still play OFP from time to time because its so awsome
