  • THANKS!! very good video and hope to see more videos lit this. I am new to model railroading and I was wondering about the couplers..

  • what is a talgo truck adaptor and where do you fine them

  • I have a horn hooked coupler and it broke. How do i take it off?

  • Quick question. I have an old Athearn HO boxcar that I built as a kit. The old hook horn couplers as attached to the frame of the car, not the trucks. Will these new Kadee couplers still work for this application or do I need different ones?

  • I've eliminated X2F couplers from my collection. I prefer Bachmann E-ZMate Mk2 or the "whisker" type Kadees, as they don't require the centering spring plate. Life-Like sells a snap-in conversion knuckle coupler, but it has a plastic knuckle spring instead of a metal one, meaning it may not work as reliably as Kadee or Bachmann.

  • @JBofBrisbane Thanks for watching. My favorite type of coupler is the Kadee #158, which is a scale whisker type. You're right - it eliminates the need to use the centering spring. However, in certain situations, it may be better to go with the old standard Kadee #5.

  • Very nice video Tim. Hope you have more to come.

  • @nealmarrison Thank you for the kind comment! I'm quite sure there will be more how-to videos coming. I have a few ideas floating around in my head right now! :)

  • Does that work for all HO rolling stock?

  • @Mrg610 Greetings! It works so long as you are replacing hook-horns with Kadee's. Depending on the manufacturer of the rolling stock, a slight modification might be needed.
