Alan was the "deeper" member of the band - had a big influence on Quo, true fans will know-

His biggest influence on record was from the "Quo" album - that was one of the classic Quo albums - met him in 1982 even had one of his guitar pics (a gibson heavy)

Quo were one of the innovative pillars of late 1960s british rock, this song having sufficient legitimate psychedelic guitar phrasing and feeling to register as a trademark of those times. It is simply great to hear it played live and with so much better sound and amplification than was available then. So sad the rift between great friends and artists, that their original product is diluted as a result. If personal pride could be secondary to artistic achievement, imagine the possible reunion?

It's sad to see John and Alan playing in small clubs like this, and Rick and Francis playing in stadiums. Alan wrote as many important songs for Quo as Francis and Rick did. The only reason John and Alan aren't playing the stadiums is because Francis and Rick own the name "Status Quo." Personaly I see the new Quo as only 50% Quo. You can't separate the Frantic Four. They needed eachother or else the magic is gone.

jarama77 they didnt sack john rossie got sick of him and then rossie and parfitt went behind lancaster back in 86 and played on with them 2dicks in it now wat they done on lancaster is very bad with out him they would not have got were they were so lancaster took them to court in 87 and they all agree on a sum of money to buy him out lancaster that is it was all wrong and rossie was to blame 4it now look at quo they are shit
