I spent a year in Tarmiyah 2005 to 2006. It was a shithole and the MP who tried to train the police were a joke and mostly counterproductive. It was not until we decided to live at the IP station that things began to improve somewhat. Until it got blown up the next year. Most of these IP were part of the insurgency.

Our troops are doing incredible things. It saddens me to think of poison they have to deal with while winning on the ground what they are losing at home.
I agree. Unfortunately, our main-stream media spits out their idealism which doesn't have anything to do with realism. There are many people that support you, even though they don't support the war. Then, there are the vets, like me, who support the troops, war and the mission. Take comfort in that.

I was in the 300th MP Co at that time in Ft Leonard Wood...I think I know ELCO21... For the Troops!!

I used to be in the 463rd MP company at Ft Leonard Wood in 1996-1997. It's good to see that they are still doing some good.
