Yeah... not really exhaust. Flame kit. But nice try kids. Nitrous SHOULDN'T give off any flames, or else you have major timing issues (ones that could ruin your engine), and even if there was a flame from nitrous, it burns orange... the same color as a backfire. Stock F430's DO NOT make these flames. Even with aggressive timing, it wont push out consistent, even, long lasting blue flames... especially not throughout the entire powerband. BTW, gas burns orange, not blue...
@duzzman1500 it only burns orange because of the soot due to temperature, if it's hot enough the soot is vaporised as well, burning blue. also, on full throttle upshifts, it's definitely possible to hold out a blue flame.
@2point0L You'll get "pop" flames from backfire on downshifts. But in this example, we can hear and see that the flames shoot out during acceleration, and actually STOP during the upshift, and start again after shifting (and there was never a downshift). It's too dark of a blue for gas (or soot, or whatever), The flames came out when there was airflow through the pipes, and stopped when the pressure dropped (just like a kit), and the flames lasted too long. Sorry kid, it's a kit. Case closed...
search on youtube for "ferrari 458 spider - spitting flames" and you'll see the driver continuously rev the engine until you see flames. initially you just see plumes of exhaust gas but then you see a pretty big flame similar to the one in the this video. keep in mind that the 458 spider was just released in september and that this is at an auto show. it's highly unlikely that this 458 was modded. case re-opened.
A stock Ferrari F430 will make these blue flames on full throttle up shifts.
NO NOS, NO gas injector, factory (Modena) engine mapping means timing is race car aggressive on full throttle. Aggressive timing equals more gas sent out the exhaust whenever throttle is lifted (automatically happens during shifting) and results in the blue flame (similar to the internal combustion of the engine!).
This actually shows that the combustion in the engine is not at all the most efficent... or in lame terms this car is wasting gas... this only happens because of excess fuel that is released in small amounts due to the pressure generated by shifting gear... una bella machina
There was no flame kit. A stock f439. They were all making the same flame.
