the following is a reported ghost story by a man named patrick in 1990 "Our kitchen faucet leaked and dripped fairly noisily. I lay in bed, listening to the drip. It developed a steady rythym. Suddenly the rhythm changed. The drip sound itself changed in pitch, and the thing literally played a tune. I could write this off as having fallen asleep and dreamed this, but at that point debbiegroaned in disbelief and asked, 'was that Funeral March of the Marionettes?'" this song was played by a ghost!
@skiwottntottn It's not supposed to be frightening. This is a suspense/mystery show. Personally I would rather watch something well written that makes you use your brain rather than watch most of these modern tacky blood and guts movies.
Most creative mind and best ever director! I love Psycho and The Birds, but the "..Presents" series were the greatest because the sheer horror packed into such short sories was fabulous. As a child, just hearing this theme tune was great. Saturday nights, staying at my Grandparents and watching Hitchcock, ahh memories!
at hulu . com u can see almost all the episodes, they are so gooooooood, i watched monkeys paw and beast in view yesterday and today captive audience, hes the best writer man, real spooky and captivating stuff
I watch the hour show and the half hour show almost every night. I just watched one tonight called the escapist. The ending made me feel claustrophobic and nauseous. I don't know how hitchcock managed to make me feel this but he did. No one else could make me feel more afraid than I was tonight. I just keept thinking about what it would of been like to know you are completely screwed and going to suffocate and there is not a dam thing you can do about it.
@lashkaretoiba i love Alfred Hitchcock, i watch the Presents and Hour almost every night. My favorite is the Schizophrenia episode, with that Dorothy Girl. Do you watch the show on RTV? thats my favorite channel.
Yes I do watch RTV almost ever night. I use to love it so much. However, the fucking christians have taken over the channel and Alfred hitchcock hour is nolonger on. These lame motherfuckers have no talent just dogma noone really gives a fuck about. God, I am pissed off.
@lashkaretoiba well, while i agree that it's really lame that Alfred Hitchcock hour was moved to such a late showing, i'm not really sure on the Christians taking over the channel part. Oh well, it's great to know a new generation gets to see such wonderful shows!
Its because people in those days did't had the horror movies like we had it today.Had his movies been the first movies you watched (in horror/thriler genre) it would preaty much scare you.
Dude have you ever thought of the possibility that it's because they are modern? Through decades have the cinema industry been working out ways to improve the material it produces. Hitchcock may seem less scary by modern standards but think about it: At his time he actually created movies that became Classics and scared people twice as much as anything else. I mean give him a break! In 50 years every current horror movie will seem lame by their standards.
@Bloxy123 in my personal opinion a good horror movie is meant to have a person on the edge of their seat with terror and suspense. A good horror movie should not tie into a real life situation, it should feature a monster or demonic force that will make people beg for the lights not to go down. LIke take saw for instance where are the monsters its technically about a serial killer which can be real but its more mystery if you look at it, now look at freddy he's a monster that terrifies millions
Of him losing to a new Cheney at the next election. Seriously the world is way better off with Obama than those constitution violators to Bush and Cheney.
I could hear from my room when my parents would watch this show. My imagination made it much worse than it really was. It scared the kiddie poop out of me.
Here's another one. The intro used to scare the crapola out of me as a kid. Twilight Zone, too! Especially the Twilight Zone logo when it appeared on the screen. It still makes me shudder and look away. Dunno why...I just find it so utterly creepy!
Do you all know of anyone who was scared of the intro for his show? I am interested in finding out whether I was the only kid in the world I'll ever know burst out screaming and running whenever it came on. It took me a while to cope with that shyt.
Dude, as a small kid in the early 60's this scared the heebiejeebies outta me especially when they showed the silohette with just one note playing ,and also the exit theme from the end of Twilight Zone.

Horror is the discovery that birth is fatal while knowing ignorance is permanent.

@Bloxy123 Hitchcock was definitely a master of suspense whether he was attempting to make a horror film or not by tying into real life situations
