  • @donsell there are no raw eggs in this recipe. you bake these at 350 for 15 minutes.  that cooks the egg.

  • Could you just whisk the ingredients together instead of blend? Will the outcome be the same?

  • I love key lime pie I can eat 1000 of these what alot of whipped cream on top! don't forget the rasp berry juice like they do cheese cake I just love these! I am in my 30's and yes I would eat 1000 of them if I could.

  • The pies looks wonderful but you forgot the lime rind.It really adds to the flavor!!! I also add a drop of green food coloring to mine and I hate meringue.

  • Im 12 and Im the pie baker of the family and my five older brothers keep asking me to make them Keylime pie, so thank you and Ill have to get those mini crusts so that they can take a pie to work for lunch. My brothers thank you and Ithank you! :)

Lol, I get almost all my recipes from allrecipes. com, free and you don't need a membership! just search in the recipe bar, angle food cake,banana cream muffins,chocolate chip cookie, (If you send me a message I'll give you my moms recipe, is to die for!) or sugar cookie and it gives you recipes sorted by order of how many stars they were rated by people just like you! Lol, I SOUND LIKE A COMMERCIAL! agh!

  • Hey we cook our pies the same way awesome! I use lemon juice too with my sweet and condensed milk. I even eat the lemon with whip cream too. This is the most deeliciuos way to make it see u know how to eat just like me. I make my cheesecake with condensed milk, 1 egg, bar of cremcheese and pinapples. Graham cracker crust of course...

  • I am in Florida, near Key Largo, and I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, at the mere suggestion of substituting any other kind of lime juice other than REAL Key Limes. Heresy! Apostasy! Treason! Key Limes and ONLY Key Limes make Key Lime Pie. Anything else is NOT - I repeat, not - KEY LIME PIE! And no, it isn't just as good.

  • Glad to see yours came out so well, and so firm. Maybe u should give Paula Deen and The Barefoot Contessa a little hint on how to make them set properly. Paula won't try to get hers out of the pan on camera as its running like water, and The Contessa calls hers "Frozen Key Lime Pie" but its really just plain Key Lime Pie (Not the icecream or sherbet kind) but she freezes it to give it body...but its not so fun to eat frozen! Your's comes out perfect, I just made one! Thanks.

  • if you don't have Key Lime juice you can just use Regular Lime Juice. it won't taste the same, but it'll be tasty.

    a pinch is just a slang term for "if you don't have any" :-) sorry i didn't get to you sooner. I didn't see this comment.

  • your welcome! :-) lol they're super Easy to make! if you like chocolate in your keylime you could even make it with a chocolate crust and put magic shell on top :-)

  • wow that was pretty simple. I love cooking and the way i make them is way more complicated than that. Im gonna give that a shot. Meringue topping is the best, and its pretty simple.

    Beat your egg whites with a hand held with some sugar and a pinch of Cream of tartar (it keeps the consistency of the eggs). Then you take out the pies from the oven a few min before and add the meringue (with little peaks on top) and put it back in for a few min. The meringue peaks start to brown. And done. :)

  • hmm...i guess i should try the meringue thing :-) I am not sure I've EVER eaten meringue. I'm weird about food :-) this pie is SO easy, and DELICIOUS. Just the right tang, and all sorts of creamy :-) lemme know if you try it! :-)

  • Oh and while you mix the whites they have to be over a little bit of boiling water. Just place the bowl over a large pot with a little water under. I know it sounds a bit complicated but it is worth it at the end.

    I did a little video of me making it but haven't edited it yet. I used the egg whites and made a Meringue topping instead of the whip cream.

  • Real easy just whip the egg whites with a mixer and add about 4 or 5 Tablespoons of sugar little by little; whip until it forms soft peaks; then pull the pie out 5 minutes before it is done and put the meringue on top and then place back into the over for those last 5 minutes to lightly brown the top.
