Because that's what feeding new, untested technology to your employees does. It also wastes money! 3 months after he gets his tablet he gets another? Investment lost. Time is also taken to learn how to use the new technology instead of working on stuff.

I want a robot phone, but It's like the fruit phone. Three years old and it's a piece of shit.

I say, upgrade when the device doesn't fit your needs anymore.

My near future setup would be a pre-paid phone (because Verizon and AT&T don't offer unlimited data anymore and I don't have a grandfathered in plan) with an old netbook to make free calls on wifi hotsopts and to play old games on the go.

I like the way they are slapping corporations in the face by saying the just need to suck it up and embrace the inevitable change in how the world operates. This is exactly what all these 20th Century industries need to do, evolve with the world and stop trying to hang on to their old ideals.
