Zelda was a very complex person. Yes, she was exciting, had a wonderful personality, and was beautifully creative.

But a creative mind like hers led her mind to become emotionally unstable. Scott based his heroines off of Zelda's temperament. Wonderful women--the best--yet ultimately doomed to disaster.
