Well Garry, I took the plunge and,got myself a magix movie edit pro plus 17(on your advice), I've got a lumix dmc fz28 digital camera that'll do the job. It does HD, and 3 other setting below that. Trouble is, everythings in quicktime, massive files!! Filmed a friends new baby last night for 4 mins, 668 mb !! need a convertor. Have no audio recorder, so will just probably mess around indoors for a bit using cubase for now. Prepare for a bombardment of hows and whys :-) and my pc is 10yr old, Ha!
@variaxed my computer was ten year old too,got a new one two weeks ago, so my first tip is get a new fast computer with tons of ram and a big hard disk otherwise you will be spending all your time watching the blue line, nice camera the lumix, happy snapping! gaz
Useful video, nicely presented. I see you also use a Zoom H2. I've also had sync problems but this was down to me saving standard definition footage as an AVI file in XP's movie-maker. (Haven't got an HD camera yet) I also use MS WMProEdit to change around bitrates etc, screen ratios etc. Not had any problems with sound sync since saving as WMV files although moviemaker audio track isn't too clear when it comes to aligning the sound 'clap'
I got the same camera and i wanna know how to convert my video formats from MTS to a format that youtube allows?

Glad you managed to sort your sound issues out.
