  • I too suffer from fibromyalgia and have for so many years. Sometimes the pain is too much to bear and I can’t imagine going on another day feeling this way. But then I found a comforting scripture in the Bible. Revelation 21:4 says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” This is a promise from Jehovah God. This helps me cope day by day.

  • I've had chronic pain since I was 9, I am now 20. It started out as something they told me was reflex sympathetic dystrophy, but as of the last five years or so they also think I have fibromyalgia. Always tired, always in pain, and there is no relief. I've found nothing that helps. Every med that promised hope has failed. my pain doctor basically said there is nothing she can do for me and there is no need for her to see me anymore. I'm beginning to doubt there is even hope anymore

  • @rebafanatic16 - I also have both conditions. It started as RSD from a botched surgery (Dr. skewered my sensory radial nerve). RSD crept up my arm until it reached near my collarbone, and that's when everything went ballistic. Every day is a trial and I must push myself to do things, which of course often ends up making it worse. The fatigue is the worst part. It has destroyed my life perhaps more than the pain. I marvel at what I used to do within one day. Now by 2 pm, my day is over. :(

  • please. "the most deadly"?????

  • @ReviewCam probably not the right choice of words. but can certainly seem the most debilitating, and I've certainly wished i was dead a time or two because of it.

  • @rebafanatic16 - Me too! My former life is gone forever. I no longer even know who I am, or was. Suicide has entered my mind many times and NO, anti-depression drugs don't help. With RSD, Fibro and Chronic Fatigue, coupled with extremely bad financial and living situations, I am surprised I am still here. I live for my two young nieces who are 10 and 8 yrs. old. My suicide would probably devastate them, and that has held me back from acting on my thoughts. Otherwise...who knows?

  • Why is it that 99% of the people with fibro are woman

  • @cdavydude Actually, about 80% of people diagnosed with fibromyalgia are women (that doesn't include the people who have yet to be diagnosed with the condition).

  • I am a recovered fibromyalgic who left the care of the medical profession to discover the cause and cure without drugs and am living proof that you can cure this horrific illness and take back your life. Please, do not be discouraged by failed hope. Symptoms are mistaken as the cause, and treatment that help do not cure. Keep going!!!

  • It breaks my heart to read these comments...here is something I find helps relieve some pain;

    Try this relaxation technique twice daily;

    * Sit in a comfortable chair in a comfortable position or lie down.

    * Tighten the muscles in each of your muscle groups, starting with the hands.

    * In each group, hold the tightened position for five seconds, then release.

    * Repeat this until you have tightened an...d released all muscle groups.

    * Use imagery to imagine the stress surging out of your body.

  • I have FMS, CFS, and Sjogren's Syndrome. I try to work full-time as I need the benefits. Trying to get my employer to understand and make some accommodations is like pulling teeth, even though I've provided them with documentation. Lyrica made me gain massive weight. Now the weight is a problem. No other meds seem to help. I've even tried herbal supplements but without relief. I wish there was an end in sight. Each day gets more difficult.

  • My friend has fibromyalgia. She is always hurting so badly, and she often can't even walk down a hallway without collapsing.

    How can people say that's not real?

  • I have fibromyagia and Chronic Pain Syndrome. My doctors will only allow me to have Gabapentin 2400mg daily, Flexiril 10mg up to 3 times daily and Tramadol to which they keep cutting me back on. I go in and have pain and I come out with less medication. I am looked at as a drug user and they think Ill I want is to get pain pills. This is not the case all I want to do is live pain free at least a few hours a day. I am treated horribly and my patient rights have been violated. I am sick!!!

  • i'm in the same boat. i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 20 years ago, before much was even discussed about it. i still worked full time and just sucked it up. this last year just changed. i'm in horrible pain, and starting to have nuero problems. the more i talk about the pain and decreased mobility, the less medication i get. even my pharmacy makes me go down to the last fucking dose of tramadol (which does shit) before it refills it for me. lyrica does help with SOME of the neuro involvement.

  • I have a support group and the American Pain Foundation is doing more to help people with FM than the heralded NFA! It is real. MRI shows dysfunction in the hippocampus. Our thyroid is off and all other glands that regulate the body! This was a good "service announcement".

  • I think the video is great. I have had doctors tell me that fibromyalgia is just a dumping ground for things other doctors don't understand.

  • I have had Fibromyalgia for two years. I have had just about any test a person could have in the last two years. I also have fibroglycemia and anxiety thanks to all the pain that never goes away. I was on Lyrica but bloated up so much I had to go off of it. I hate it when people look at me and think you look ok what is the matter with you. I can't work full time as my body just won't let me. I get sick every time I try. Thanks for all the stories and comments.

  • My Mom and myself have Fibormyalgia... She and I are on Lyrica... My mom is on another drug for it but i'm not sure what is is.... I'm also on Lortab 7.5.... And it helps a little.... Both of us are now using canes... I'm 46 and my Mom is 70... I also have Psoriasis so that doesn't help either.... Thank you for this video...

  • Dear shadows4seen,

    Your mom is not alone. Over 6 million Americans have fibromyalgia, plus many more who have not been diagnosed.

    The Spotlight on Fibromyalgia section of our website will help you under it a bit better.
