The thing is, you're equating morality with being advanced.
All that is required for a lifeform to be spacefaring and ancient is technology and survivability. They could be extremely violent nomads who reproduce quickly - highly adapted for war. We might not call them 'mentally' advanced... but they could get here.
Exactly which other 'theories' did you examine? Because there is this really good one called 'evolution' which gives a beautifully reasonable and logical explanation of how humans arose as a species. It's also supported by mountains of evidence.

Aliens will not need our resources because to travel to Earth either through normal space or subspace would require more resources than what we have. All our resources can be found in nebulas, asteroids and other planets. Would you disturb a bee's nest for honey when there is honey everywhere else with no bees? He knows something we don't. Well, it really depends on whether they are a peaceful race, and rose to planetary domination via conversion of thoughts, economically, etc. or if they rose to planetary domination via war or violence. When we think of aliens, we think of them as one, but when we think of humans, we think of various nations, despite all the problems, how would the world in general react, if the aliens made contact to one nation, because of trust. I think Aliens exist, why do I think so? i have heard directly from local Malay people living in mountains, who do not know or care about Aliens due to their major poverty problems,they can't survive and have no reason to make up stories about aliens.These guys have explained to me how they see objects floating and suddenly zap away in unbelievable speed,they think its some sort of airplane but from the descriptions,the lights and the speed they say it travels, i think its an Alien spaceship.

Aliens havent visited this planet. Its all garbage. In terms of probablity your talking a range of 100,000 lightyears before you stumble upon an intelligent life. For anything to travel this far they would need to have a self sufficient ship. They would probably be looking to colonise if they found our planet... not necessarily hostile but more likely wanting to coexist.

He is just a physicist and it's unfortunate in my opinion that he said what he said because alot of people will believe him just because he has "credentials" in some area and is well known. Asked him a few questions if any customers have noticed any ufos in out outer atmosphere or anything and he said no. If we did make contact and we met the aliens, there is no telling that they will be peaceful. The human race has grown mentally and techologically, but we're all still animals to an advanced race.
@SpartanDrake117 Unless they can achieve speeds faster than light or time travel, it would be too costly for any aliens to come to earth. To accelerate at 2 g's of force, you would have to accelerate over a distance 240 times greater from the sun to pluto to get to 90% the speed of light. Our intuitions are resulting from the speeds we go at on earth. The aliens would also have to deaccelerate which would mean they would have to bring a lot of energy with them.

@raggedmoorlander It is estimated it would cost one trillion dollars to get 2 or 3 people to Mars and back. It is also calculated that due to bone mass loss, they will not be able to walk. Unless speeds greater than light can be achieved, there will be no space travel. Unless they can time travel, it would be just too costly to come to earth. It would take too long to accelerate to the speed of light, and you would also have to bring with you thigs to deaccelerate with.

The nearest star is Alpha Centuri which is about 4 light years away. It doesn't seem to have any planets. It is not likely that it would have any inhabitants that would want to come here. Towards the end of your video i agree. I do think we have been visited by aliens before. Personally I don't think we have anything in this planet that they would really want or need that they can't get somewhere else or manufacture. If they do come here is for perhaps biological samples much the same way we as humans would go into lets say africa and take blood samples from a gorilla for research. From my observation the most intelligent creatures on this planet are predators or have predatory natures. Look at chimpanzees, gorillas, Dogs, Lions, Dolphins, whales. All have some sort of tribal community, hierarchy, and tend to use their superior intelligence over prey to survive. I believe Extraterrestrial life is abundant in the universe..even in our solar system. I see people as being naturally optimistic about aliens as naive. This is why Stephen Hawking is using our own history as a parallel, it's the only analogy we have as this is the only planet we known with life on it. Human history is extremely violent. We consider ourselves intelligent, yet are the most destructive species. If they're anything like us then it should be a cause for concern. Watch for Aliens, be passive, and don't provoke any potentially hostile ones.
If they're friendly, fantastic! we can have peaceful trade and relations with them. If they're hostile, we have no way to defend ourselves. Hawking is not a sociologist nor is he an expert on exopolitics. He is just a physicist and it's unfortunate in my opinion that he said what he said because alot of people will believe him just because he has "credentials" in some area and is well known. It seems more likely that there would be variation in the character of advanced species just like there is between individuals here on earth. And Hawking is no more advanced than you or anyone else, he is just gifted in a particular field.

1) Can we detect them with the technology we have? Even if they're already here monitoring us?
2) Are we civilized and/or ready to approach them as a whole?

To accelerate at 2 g's of force, you would have to accelerate over a distance 240 times greater from the sun to pluto to get to 90% the speed of light. Our intuitions are resulting from the speeds we go at on earth. The aliens would also have to deaccelerate which would mean they would have to bring a lot of energy with them.

If you are accelerated to 90% of the speed of live at 2g's, it would take over half a year, and the distance you would need to accelerate over would be over 200 times the distance from pluto to the sun. Unless speeds greater than light can be achieved, there will be no space travel. Unless they can time travel, it would be just too costly to come to earth. It would take too long to accelerate to the speed of light, and you would also have to bring with you thigs to deaccelerate with.

The nearest star is Alpha Centuri which is about 4 light years away. It doesn't seem to have any planets. It is not likely that it would have any inhabitants that would want to come here. If you located any place in the universe that could support life, I would be surprized if in coming to earth, they didn't pass resources that are on earth along their path.

@raggedmoorlander We stopped going to the moon because we found out it was much like earth. Interestingly, theChinese may be going there to collect a form of helium which only has one neutron. The sun is spitting it out all the time. When it comes to earth, the atmosphere destroys it. It is my understanding that 40 tons of it could produce the electric needs of the Us for a year. It would be cold fusion.

How do we know that there isnt another planet like Earth out there or even planetS like Earth that have been visited by aliens. I mean look at us as a race. Towards the end of your video i agree. I do think we have been visited by aliens before. Personally I don't think we have anything in this planet that they would really want or need that they can't get somewhere else or manufacture. If they do come here is for perhaps biological samples much the same way we as humans would go into lets say africa and take blood samples from a gorilla for research. Hopefully we don't have anything they would really want if we did we are in deep DUDU.

From my observation the most intelligent creatures on this planet are predators or have predatory natures. Look at chimpanzees, gorillas, Dogs, Lions, Dolphins, whales. All have some sort of tribal community, hierarchy, and tend to use their superior intelligence over prey to survive. We have predatory origins as well and it would be relative safe assumption that aliens do as well. 200k years of evolution will not erase that fact. so yes we should be cautious of alien contact

Thepen look at it this way how old is the "modern" human homo sapiens sapiens? Well myself being an Anthropologist i can say according to records about 100k years old. Altho our technology has advanced considerably we still follow our biological instincts. We are predators by nature and another 100k years of technological innovation is not going to erase those instincts. what makes you think aliens are much different?

I don't understand how you're sure that aliens are more advanced than us technologically, physiologically or mentally. For all we know all alien life out there are as violent as we are. You're making a huge assumption here, s'all I'm saying.
Another danger for us, regarding communicating with aliens, is how we as a species will react. Human's aren't exactly the most tolerable of creatures.. I mean, we still hate each other because of the color of our skin or religious or idealogical beliefs.

Haking is not saying, that aliens WILL colonize our planet. He just assumes the possiblity of a bad purpose of an alien invasion. @thepenrev God did not allow the demon alien to kill me. It was virtually invisible. It left after giving me a good wrestle, but it left peacefully. You just don't fight these, especially if they indicate peaceful intentions. It was God's way of showing me he's master control.

Why do so many people think it is either one or the other (hostile or friendly)? Could anybody stop to think that it could be both. I think most aliens that are here are friendly (kind of like how an American would be nice to a starving child in Africa) and are here to help, and a handful of them jerks. Which are basically the same as the handful of jerks that are from this planet (Rothschild, Rockefeller, etc.). I don't know why Stephen Hawking assumes all of them are bad. He was paid to.

Any intelligent life that could reach the vast distances would be comparable to ants to us(us being the ants intelligent life being us) We don't pay any attention to ants and we don't notice them and we wouldn't travel across the country to view regular ants. I see people as being naturally optimistic about aliens as naive. This is why Stephen Hawking is using our own history as a parallel, it's the only analogy we have as this is the only planet we known with life on it. Human history is extremely violent. We consider ourselves intelligent, yet are the most destructive species. If they're anything like us then it should be a cause for concern. Watch for Aliens, be passive, and don't provoke any potentially hostile ones.

If they're friendly, fantastic! we can have peaceful trade and relations with them. If they're hostile, we have no way to defend ourselves. It's the possibility that they could stomp us out without our say in the matter is where I deem caution. We shouldn't be looking to contact any aliens until we've mastered our own solar system, at a minimum. I've thought about this for at least 10 years and have come to the same conclusions as Stephen Hawking before I learned he was saying the same thing.

If any aliens visit earth then clearly they are far more technologically advanced then we are. I'm positive aliens exist and in vast, vast quantities all over the universe. However, I won't say either way which are hostile and which are not. Some may be benevolent, some may be malevolent, and some may be completely indifferent and see as nothing more than a disease, like a virus. We can't know for sure and it's the unknown that should make us proceed with extreme caution.

There is so much about this that we don't know or even understand. Science is taking baby steps to found out whats it about. There is so much to explore, Theories have been proven and disproven. there are so many planets, galaxies, and multiple universes that we cant claim to know it all. We have no clue as to what life really looks like out there.Microbial life is just one of many. We have to go beyond human logic & understanding, We won't go far using just that. It has limitations.
